Graphics are excellent, but the music is awful and the commentary is poor. I was hoping the wind would blow that hat off Brent Musburger's head and send him running from the track.

And can they get rid of the ticker at the bottom of the screen?

I'm not at all impressed, that's for sure.

That's the one thing they wont take off, that ticker is their lives lol, but yeah i'm not impress with the way they are doing it at ESPN..

lol, I thought that was pretty cool

There's minor things I've seen that I didn't care for, but not bad for their first broadcast in...how many years?

The Draft boost is kinida stupid, I know this people are expert or whatever but i just dont find their broadcasting interesting, they all sound bored to hell

"In-Race Reporter" is also dumb as anything. I mkiss the old SpeedWorld theme. :headbang:

Brent Musburger is just :bleh:

And Jerry Punch needs vocal surgurey.

I always kiked Brent M. Doesn't matter.

I think Musburger's a solid sports commentator, but NASCAR? Honestly?

Musburger is the man. He's like just a step below Keith Jackson, IMO. Up there with Al Michaels.

All I know is I had to go out to the car to get my shades. I mean damn, Brad has to have the whitest teeth on the planet. They were blinding.
But, watching a lot of ESPN the ticker at the bottom was a non-issue. I mean what do you usually see there? Grass? More pavement? It really wasn't in the way and you'll get used to it.
The draft boost was cutesy. At least it wasn't over done and I doubt we'll see it @ Darlington. At least they didn't go to the garage for explanation of loose or tight or to the cut away car.
Rusty was really good.

Yeah, they went to the cutaway a couple times. The guy there sounded about as monotone & uninterested as it gets. Stumbled on his words a couple times, as well.

I like Jerry Punch because of his knowledge and because he now lives here in Knoxville. But I said this when ESPN announced their announcing team. I would have preferred seeing them bring back Bob Jenkins to call the race and let Dr. Punch be the host instead of Musberger. I don't think Dr. Punch brings enough excitement to calling the race.

It doesn't matter....someone is always going to have something bad to say about any channel that covers races.....This is just toooooo old now.

Isn't that the truth, Bucky. I'm just delighted that we get to watch any racing at all. I remember when all we got were brief highlights on Wide World of Sports --- you know, 1 or 2 wrecks and the winner crossing the line.

I remember those days. I remember looking forward to seeing those highlights a week later. There was another show that had some highlights that was hosted by Johnny Rutherford. I think the name of it was "The Racers" or something like that.

I'll 2nd that.

Thanks, TRL, for bringing us back to earth ;)
