The race was past its broadcast window because of the red flag. How do you think the college basketball fans felt? ESPN was just honoring their commitments.
 
I normally give no f about post race but they can only interview the winner and a few Cup drivers?

The amount of time it took them to shout out to Johanna Long, Timmy Hill (who was leading when they were yappin' about Danica) and Casey Roderick just irritated me. This is why I quit watching the Nationwide Series.

I remember being at an Indycar race at Mid-Ohio a couple years ago and they acutally delayed the start of the race because ESPN was televising a golf tournament. I couldnt believe it. You cant get much more boring than golf.

They started the race on ESPN2, then moved it to ESPN, then moved it to ABC and aired postrace on ESPN Classic. That was infuriating.

Yeah, ESPN likes to bounce events around all thier 6 different channels they have....lol
 
Let's see, they covered the entire race, they interviewed the leader and a couple others, and they replayed the finish a few times. And people awaiting the UNC v UVA basketball game are now watching on the channel it's supposed to be on.

And the problem is....? Seriously, WTF is the complaining for?

It's a lot better than when ESPN would cut off the end of a race for tennis or some ****.

I'm just ticked ESPN couldn't take time away from their love affair with Danica to cover the low-budget teams that were in the top 10.

If you don't want to pay for the premium channels, why should you get premium programming? That's what it comes down to.

It's not like you can get a steak for the price of a burger man. Get real.

Trust me, Verizon charges more than Comcast and offers much less. But Verizon is what's offered at my place and is what's included in my rent.

THE PROBLEM IS THEIR A FEW MORE NASCAR FANS,TO UNC/UVA FANS............,LIKE MIKE H. SAID"IF YOUR IN BUSSNESS N YOUR COUSTOMERS COMPLAIN YOU BETTER CHANGE,OR YOU WONT BE IN BUSSNES LONG".

Umm, OK? No need to yell. But college basketball has plenty of fans. And again, they got the whole race in, the replays, and the winner's interview. And the game is on the channel it was advertised to be on. How is that a problem? I could see if they cut away the second the checkers flew (which I've seen happen), but they didn't.
 
ESPN (owned by Capital Cities - also owner of ABC, BTW) is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Disney.

Wasn't it NBC who once cut before even talking to the winner once?

ESPN did that at a Nationwide race once. Reutimann's first win. He crossed the line, they said Reutimann won then cut right to football. But that race was well over it's timeslot by some 2 hours.
 
I remember NBC pre-empting NFL for NASCAR. The only two times they cut out without interviewing the winner, they moved postrace coverage to CNBC.

TNT is by far the worst. They'll interview the winner and then cut out when they have 45 minutes left on the timeslot without interviewing anyone else... and they do that quite often. But TNT's coverage, all around, is the worst.
 
No problems here with ESPN. I just got done watching the DVR'd copy of the Nationwide race and by good planning I set it to record an hour over. I saw the whole race and a couple of interviews afterwards. I'm not sure what more you can expect with it running over. Heck, the fact that they had another channel to switch to for the post race is a bonus IMO.

I did the same (but only did 30 minutes) and it worked out just about perfectly.
