As usual, a bunch of unnecessary, irrelevant prerace BS and no post race interviews.
Way to suck, ESPN!!

If ESPN fired they're analysts, i think they'd have better luck replacing them with the MRN/PRN people.

AND the endless explations about why something broke, the cutting away from the race for the engine explanations, cutaway car, and that draft track, I MISS FOX.

the same stupid animated video of each failure. IT GETS BORING AND DUHING AFTER WHILE

cutaway car- actually halfway inteligent

draft track- A $10,000 waste of ABC'S MONEY

I liked what Dale Jr told them after he blew up and they were interviewing him. They said that was a pretty exciting race out there wasn't it. Jr said I don't know what you were watching but we were just riding around the top pretty boring stuff.

I have a lot of respect for Dr. Punch

... and think he was great on pit road. The rest of them (minus Brad Daughtry, Allen and Brent Musburger) suck.

They said after interviewing Gordon...

... to flip over to ESPN for postrace coverage. I did so and they had "SportsCenter Lives in Sports," biographies about meaningless batboys who handed a stick and ball to Barry Bonds and asked him if he needed some 'roids.

ESPN is the MSNBC of sports.

I refuse to watch the ESPN pre-race. As silly as Jimmy and Kenny can be, they still are better than whozits on ESPN.

True, but Jimmy was making a lot of sense yesterday about how drivers should be allowed into the sport.
I turned over to the race in time to sync up MRN on Sirius with the TV broadcast.

After the season is over, it will be the perfect time to make major changes to ESPN's lineup. Dale Jarrett is supposedly running the first 6 races next year, then retiring. It's time to put Jarrett in the booth with Petree and move Bestwick as the play-by-play guy. Move Jerry Punch to role of host and get rid of Suzy and Brent. If Rusty wants to stay in broadcasting instead of being a full-time owner, then move him to the studio as well. Bring back John Kernan and get rid of Dave Burns. Speed has a very good pit reporter that does the truck races, hire him.

I noticed during Saturday's qualifying, SPEED had Randy Pemberton interviewing drivers. I think ESPN used Glen Jarrett for a Busch race a couple of months ago when Cup and Busch were on opposite ends of the country. Hire one of those guys.

I like Brent Musburger

But I have to flip the channel whenever Suzy Kolber's on.

I imagine they will make major changes.

Dave Burns is a dick. He has minimal knowledge of the concept of racing, staggers around with a thumb up his buttox trying to get with whatever woman he can down in pit lane. I wish NBC would've thrown him to the dogs when he was there.

Jamie Little is an effing moron. Twice she said drivers were taking 4 tires, AFTER they'd already taken 2 and left the pits right in front of her. Go Back to IndyCar.

I hate having to listen to Andy Petree all race long. Not that big a fan of Jarrett, he and Andy Petree sound alike.

They've got to be able to get better people than they have. Marty Reid? Bob Jenkins? Eli Gold? John Andretti? My face?

Awh, spare me. They're AWFUL.

We forget

that the people that HIRE these folks don't have a clue as to how to show a race on the TV!
They have the notion of a cutaway car and it SOUNDS great to them so they spend the money..THEN they feel forced to use it..
Gimme FOX anytime. Rusty ain't so bad to me I like the way he talks.
Betsy;)

I just want to know what crypt they robbed to get Brent Musburger. He could do funerals with his pitch. Why not let Allen Bestwick be the lead and sort it out from there? I'm glad Dr Punch is back, but let him work the pits again.

hey andy, if ESPN offered you a pit reporter job, would you skip over due to your co-workers, or take the chance of a lifetime and be around a bunch of TV production morons?

I'd take the opportunity.

Play-by-play is where I think I'd be great, but I'd take pit road. Team me up with TNT and Lindsay Czarniak.

... Or Brienne Pedigo at Indy.

I can't believe how much they SUCK!! And why is it our news and whole schedule can be delayed when it's football? Uggh.. I was looking all over for what was supposed to be on ESPN and then after listening to it a couple of times, we were supposed to go listen to the little blurbs at 7pm. I don't believe they had "all the interviews" because I kept flipping channels. I'm a relatively new fan and even I could figure out their stupid "draft" before they even showed it on TV. Morons. It's bad enough when I get drivers confused (often because of paint schemes or diff. drivers in the car), but then those idiots have the names and numbers right in front of them and they can't even get it right. It's especially "fun" when they cut away to interview someone when they're finally getting some action on the track. At least they cut Mikey's interview a bit short when there was a wreck, but it was getting close to the end, and I was yelling..let me see the cars.. put Mikey in the little window if you want! GAH!!

Personally, I can't get the channel changed fast enough the instant Johnson or Gordon cross the finish line in 1st but I'd rather see more post-race interviews otherwise.

I don't bother with all that pre-race crap but I'm sure some people enjot it. I especially wont be watching it this weekend as I know who they'll be going on about to the point of me wanting to vomit.

On the bright side, it seems as though ESPN are getting better at showing more restarts.
