I think this was Webber's fault, though. He was following the other car way too closely, and when he braked for the turn Webber had no time to react.
When the Safety Car was deployed, Hamilton got a mulligan in the form of being allowed to pass the safety car while it exited the pits. While the two Ferrari cars right behind him were not allowed to pass. Hamilton was second at the time, with the Ferrari's in 3rd and 4th. This allowed Hamilton to quickly return to the pits for service, and forced the Ferrari cars to stack their stops. That dropped Alonso to 10th and Massa to 17th.
