IMSA: Sebring BoP adjustments revealed

A number of notable updates to IMSA’s Balance of Performance tables were revealed on Monday ahead of next month’s 12 Hours of Sebring, which serves as Round 2 for the TUDOR United SportsCar Championship.

High-downforce bodywork will be required for the entire Prototype class after one-off, low-downforce specifications were utilized at the high-speed Rolex 24 at Daytona season opener in January. The only vehicle adjustment in Prototype for Sebring will see Dinan BMW-powered Rileys lose 3 liters of fuel capacity. No changes are listed for the spec PC class.

Sweeping changes to GT Le Mans between Daytona and Sebring will see Aston Martin add 15kgs to its V8 Vantage, now 1190kg, and add a 15mm Gurney to the rear wing. AMR’s high downforce kit will also replace its low-drag Le Mans kit. BMW will remove 10kg from its Z4s, now 1220, and will add an additional 15mm of Gurney height to their rear wings, now up to 25mm.

The Rolex 24-winning Corvette C7.Rs will lose a bit of power with tighter air restrictors, as they decrease the opening size by 0.3mm to 29.8mm. The Corvettes will also add an additional 15mm of Gurney height to their rear wings, now up to 25mm. Ferrari’s F458 Italia will lose 1 liter of fuel capacity, down to 94L, and Porsche’s 911 RSRs will lose 4 liters, down to 98L

I can't, for the life of me, figure out why the BMW-Riley DP was the only Prototype to get hit. Starworks didn't have much of a chance even going into the 24H and they didn't do much in the actual race.

The Vipers got absolutely neutered.
