Here is how we won the fan vote:

  1. Read the rules, realized we could vote unlimited times with double votes on mobile.
  2. Once we started NASCAR implemented the captcha. Instead of discouraging us to vote, it actually helped us, since many fans of dogecoin and Josh Wise are also skilled at the internet.
  3. Community members started streaming their votes live and showing off their speed voting skills.
  4. Every day since talladega we had a post about voting on either our front page or front page of reddit.
  5. We paid for an ad to be placed on reddit to get more votes from those not subscribed to the sub
  6. Voting quickly by using the back button and still solving the captcha each vote...instead of reclicking through 2 other pages was discovered. Simply put, instead of using a mouse to slowly click we used a keyboard shortcut for "go back"
  7. Got an extension to help us track personal votes and held competitions on who could vote more.
  8. Last push came on the last day as shibes assumed we had to make up at least 98000 votes in the last 11 hours.
  9. We used almost every form of media to promote our car and driver.
  10. Those saying we used a bot to get past a captcha are incorrect. You need a human to solve those. How did we vote so fast? Skills. I personally was on the slow end and could bang out around 2-3 votes per minute on mobile depending on captcha difficulty. So in one hour of hardcore voting that is a minimum of 120 votes from just 1 person. We have over 80k subscribers and a ton more people on reddit to help. Some shibes could actually put up 10 votes a minute on pc, so with some hardcore determination from different members we were able to put up large vote numbers
  11. We knew our adversary and the awesome fan base we would be up against. They are a dedicated bunch so we knew we would have to vote nonstop and whenever we could in order to wven have a chance.
  12. We had a vested interest in Josh winning. A lot of people donated a lot of dogecoin to get the sponsorship, that means that a piece of us, no matter how small, was plastered on that car. It was more important for us to win because we invested real money. Sponsored drivers have a big company behind them, but we had a group of individuals.
  13. Shibes (members of the dogecoin community or people who use dogecoin) also went as far as to make awesome tribute videos to garner more attention on Youtube and beyond.

Awesomeness. Pure awesomeness.

The internet. A web of information that can solve any problem presented to it, can inform an individual about everything about the planet we live on, communicates with others halfway across the globe in milliseconds, and has potential unimaginable.

And we vote Josh Wise into the all star race. :bounce:

It's certainly been used for endeavors much worse than this.

Every time NASCAR fans have been involved in voting, they have screwed the pooch...

NASCAR would be stupid to do that. A lot of young people are watching races for the first time due to this project.

They may watch to see how their driver does, will it be a letdown if he isnt competitive and will they keep watching ? It would be interesting to see the numbers on this. I have to admit that I was shocked when I heard the results of the fan vote, it is pretty cool I guess

DP fans rested on their laurels to a degree.....myself included. dogecoin was underestimated.

I just wonder how many of those reddit folks will actually watch the race or if winning the vote was all the were interested in.
If it brings real fans in good...if not seems like a farce...them laughing at nascar

It is understood that the team is far from a juggernaut, hence why the project began in the first place.

You could ask the same question of if Danica's new fans will continue to watch once she's out of the sport.

I thought Danica had this in the bag. I will be honest with you and admit I didnt even bother to vote :(
Please accept my apology

Nascar wont let this happen again, betting we get one vote apiece next year
Probably one vote each per day or week like it used to be. If we have to have a vote I would rather it be that way so the Reddit trolls will get bored and disinterested.

Good point about the Danica fanbase, surely they will follow her to the next series if there is one, if there isnt I am betting they will fade away because a lot of them were never race fans before Danica :idunno:

We cant underestimate the power these folks have, they will likely find another way to get it done, as long as it doesnt turn in to outright hacking or illegal methods im ok with it

NASCAR has a room in Charlotte that just simply scrubs social media all day every day. No doubt they certainly have their sights on reddit now.

Chad Knaus, Chase Elliott, Clint Bowyer, Luke Lambert (Newman's crew chief) have all done AMAs on the NASCAR subreddit over the last few months. Keselowski, Junior, JJ, and Ryan Blaney all did one last year. It's good for the fans and good for the sport.

I love seeing the fans backing the little guys... especially against Danica.. not out of spite for her just because I know she has a very large fan base.

They are absolutely not laughing at NASCAR.

Perhaps logon to the dogecoin subreddit and see for yourself. It will save you the wasted effort of incorrect speculation.

The fact that someone pushing 70 knows what Reddit is makes it fun. Three fact that you've got your knickers in such a bunch over this is just icing on the cake.

HahahaHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHA! Nah, they won't get bored, they'll just try to figure out another way to work the system in their favor.

For God's sake, it was JUST A PASS! Your gif is driving me nuts! LOL. You know I respect your loyalty, but damn. :D

They used a bot and are lying. Bots can solve captchas now.

I don't care that they won. I don't care that they cheated. But they did use bots. Not a surprise they won't admit it The only proof being offered that they didn't use bots is them swearing that they didn't use bots.

The fan favorite goes the sponsor who cuts the biggest check to NA$CAR.. I suspect you'll hear a lot of hype from the talking heads about Wise and the Dogecar, similar to all coverage Kevin Conway and the ExtenZe car got a few years ago

I'm sure some 18 year-old kid got everything right past NASCAR and Ernst & Young. Lol.

If this were the case the GoDaddy-sponsored car would have won. Some people on the Internet get together and put $55K towards a car and suddenly they have tens of millions?

So a bot can really solve a captcha ? I had no idea that was possible, I am however a bit behind the times. If what you are saying is true then they did cheat and should be disqualified

I think Danica should dump GoDaddy for not thinking of it first. :owquitit:
