I'd say that if history and statistics are any indicator, #48 should be able to seperate himself from the rest of the pack.
Of course we can toss history/stats out the windows and say anything can happen. However, that anything includes Kahne or Bowyer not being in the wrong place/time and walking away with it all.
Personally, I may hope for someone else but no way would I put my money against Johnson...especially with the points lead and 3 races remaining.

I was impressed with the 48 driver and team last week by getting a top 10 out of a wrecked car, they are the gold standard and if another team can beat them they will deserve the title. While I'm not a fan of Brad, he has earned my respect this season. I'm fine with any of the top 4 teams winning this year since my favorite drivers are out of it now.

I guess it's called 'factory support' for a reason. If the factory isn't ready to support it's teams on a long term basis ,then the teams have to look for support where they can find it.
