Softer tires this week:

Karun thinks Vettel’s lack of pace has to do with lack of confidence. Lol

Jesus. Don’t know what to make of Seb anymore. Beaten by Leclerc again and knocked out in Q2.

Maybe if RP want a German next year they should keep the one currently in their car...

Dude, Ferrari is sabotaging his car.

There is no way he’s this slow. Literally went out on new softs and still couldn’t do better than 12th.

That’s more than driver issues.

Hulkenberg is gonna get himself a seat somewhere. Took one full weekend for him to start beating Stroll.

Great lap for Bottas.

Glad for Hulkenberg but it has to sting for the rest of the guys knowing you’re getting beat by essentially illegal but somehow legal components.

For his sake I hope so. Something on the car broke in four practice sessions over the last two weekends. Replaced the whole PU today.
So the mediums are faster than the softs? Lol
They were saying with the softer tires this week the softs are gone with a few corners left in the lap. Like doing a racing game with the tire wear set to x15 or something.

First, delighted for Hulk.

There's more on the RP legality issue: Brown says Racing Point penalty could be tip of the iceberg

Not sure what to think of all of this, but with four teams filing protests, it doesn't look real good.

He's a solid question: If RP is copying Mercedes' CAD files, why isn't the FIA investigating Mercedes?

Dude, Ferrari is sabotaging his car.

They would be sabotaging their own constructor's championship too if that were the case. Are they that stubborn to prove Vettel isn't worth keeping? The people running Ferrari are vindictive, insane little children. They have always treated their drivers like this.

Right about now I'm thinking Sainz would have been better off staying at McLaren. They love him, but if you look at how Ferrari treats it's drivers...….

Considering he and Leclerc were reasonably matched last year, what happened?

That’s more than driver issues.

I can only hope Vettel gets a good drive and smokes Ferrari off all next year. Right now the RP (assuming it's deemed legal) is looking like it could be a good move.

The way Ferrari has been treating him, Vettel must turn into every corner wondering if the petal is going to the floor or if all the wheels are going to fall off. Maybe the whole damm car will burst into flames. If Vettel lacks any confidence it's in the team's ability to give him a safe car. I'de be less than confident too since the team seems like it can't wait to get him out of there. I don't want to go so far as saying Ferrari is deliberately sabotaging Vettel, but they certainly aren't helping him much. Ferrari made a poor decision and are in face saving mode. The more poorly Vettel performs, the more inspired their choice to drop him looks.

Look, this is nothing new. Ferrari has always either pitted it's drivers against each other, or designated one of them as the b*tch. You can ask Barrachello about the later. The last time they had two potential champions and a car worthy of the championship, we had the Villeneuve/Pironi mess where neither driver won the title in a car that could hardly be beaten. Also remember how badly Mansel and Prost got along at Ferrari. They barely made it through a year together. Ferrari have never been able to make equal #1s work. Later, first Massa, and then Kimi got second class treatment, and now Vettel is the victim of Ferrari's obsession with the shiny new object.

Looking back, McLaren went though a rough time with Senna/Prost, but didn't make the same mistakes with Hakkinen/Coulthard (who worked exceptionally well together). Mercedes had a hell of a time keeping Hamilton/Rosberg out of the gravel together, but seemed to have learned and the Hamilton/Botas pairing get it done without tripping over each other.

I don't think Ferrari will ever be able to manage a pairing of great drivers. It's easier for them to fawn over one of them and treat the other poorly. Any questions about where Vettel finds himself now?

Vettel went from 11th to 20th. Holy ****

Mercedes front left critical already. This is going to be fun.

Barring a health issue a driver just does not loose it quickly as it is happening with Vettel.
Ferrari may not be sabotaging him but the priorities could not be any more obvious.

Verstappen being within striking distance at least pressures Mercedes a bit. That’s the only way they ever goof up.
It is more of a Mercedes exhibition than a race for the win.

Has Albon plateaued? The struggle to keep up has been real.

Verstappen lapping quicker on old hards. Dude’s gonna win. Mercedes sound shook already.

Hamilton about to fall a full pit stop behind.

Hamilton Should pit. Nothing to lose.

Max has to take these mediums to the finish. That will be interesting.

Mercedes might still have a shot with Bottas.

Mercedes must not have any confidence in Bottas to prefer the golden boy over him.

Bottas is actually within striking distance and on the same tire life cycle with Max.
