US F1 sporting director Peter Windsor is so enamored with Kyle Busch, he keeps very informed on what the Sprint Cup driver is doing "on a daily basis almost." Windsor would like to eliminate "almost" in 2011. "If he wanted to drive for us in 2011, we'd certainly be keen on that," Windsor says.

"I've watched him a lot and have massive respect for him," Windsor says. "I know people who know him very well. I believe Kyle can win a world championship in Formula One. I think he's got exactly the right talent, the right approach. I'd love to see him in a Formula One car. If he wants to jump in our car next year for doing some demonstrations here in the States, he's very welcome to do that." Busch's contract with Joe Gibbs Racing won't expire until after next season, and there've been no indications he is planning to leave.

Same excitement surrounded Jeff Gordon in the 90's when he was winning everything in sight. Never amounted to anything except for a "Trading Paint" deal with Montoya in 03. Other than that, I don't think Gordon was ever inside an F1 car.

Good luck to him though.

Busch's contract with Joe Gibbs Racing won't expire until after next season, and there've been no indications he is planning to leave. But Busch, 24, did express interest in F1 when asked shortly after US F1's launch in February.

"It's definitely something I wouldn't shoot down," the Las Vegas native said. "If I could win a championship (in NASCAR) in the next two or three years then I wouldn't mind going doing (F1) for a few years and coming back. I think I'd still be young enough that if I could win a championship by 25, go run Formula 1 for a few years and be back (in NASCAR) by 28."
he certainly isn't lacking in confidence. first he has to prove he can win a championship in nascar. beats me what he would get from going f1 at this point though. it's just bargaining material.

Heck, everyone from F1 is trying to come to Nascar. What is there to gain by going to F1. :)

This would be a terrible move for both Busch and the USF1 team.

For one thing, Busch is a very aggressive driver. This can quickly bite you in F1 as the cars are so fragile that even the slightest contact can end your day.

Plus Busch has a horrible work-ethic. Arguably the worst in NASCAR. When things don't go his way he yells at his crew, and throws a fit if you're lucky. If he's in a really bad mood, he wrecks himself so he can go home.

He can get away with this a couple times in NASCAR where the cars cost roughly $200 thousand. I'd like to see how well that goes over in F1 where the non-Ferrari cars are roughly $5 million to make.

better busch rumor, compliments of me. <g> harvick goes to jgr and busch goes to rcr in 2011. maybe even next year if richard and joe are agreeable to rush their stars out the door.

It wouldn't surprise me although I thought that Kenseth might end up at JGR as a Busch replacement.
