F1 driver Speed ready to take NASCAR move?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Jacques Villeneuve would join Columbian Juan Pablo Montoya as the second former Formula One star joining the Nextel Cup ranks. There's also rumors flying that American driver Scott Speed, who spent the 2006 season and half of the season in Formula One, is ready to take the NASCAR plunge. "You know, I certainly think it shows that our sport is being respected on a worldwide scale," reigning Nextel Cup champion Jimmie Johnson said. "I think that as Juan has come in and lived the experiences of Nextel Cup racing, it has shown how difficult our sport is. It's unclear what Jacques will bring, and then if Scott Speed is able to come in and run as well, but it can't hurt. It's only good for our sport. -- Hartford Courant

Scott Speed an "F1 Star"? Hardly.

He's ready to take the Nascar plunge because he got canned for a physical altercation ;) with his team manager and never even reached also-ran status in F1.

That's what we need. MORE ATTITUDES...

Oh boy here we go:rolleyes: If people want to see F1 drivers, WATCH F1

I'd say this transition is working out very well for him.

Scott Speed is an amazing driver. :beerbang:

Would you prefer it if your attitude was the only one here?

Judging by his results so far, I'd say the question should be "Is NASCAR ready for Scott Speed?".

The fans ain't gonna like him, just like they didn't like Montoya. But he's gonna light 'em up. :beerbang:

ARCA and CTS is one thing cup is a totally different animal and I'm sure the cup boys will adjust his attitude.

During practice for the Toyota 150 Scott Speed was wearing white capris. I **** you not. the morning of the race he was wearing chartreuse Chucks and matching glasses. I don't think it will be an easy transition if he tries to live in NASCAR country... like Mooresville.

Also, his racing seat is zebra striped. I swear on my mother's grave.
