F1 News; Bahrain May be Cancelled

it's toast. protestors couldn't care less about bernie and f1.
 
so this means it's a go. no world leader is going to say his country is unsafe to conduct business as usual. i'm sure security will be adequate to conduct the race. the question is whether a crackdown on dissenters will be seen as overboard by the rest of the world.

However, it looks like a number of teams have already cancelled travel plans to the country. Kinda had to hold a race if there's no cars to race.
 
Per National Speedsport News, the season opening Formula One Grand Prix of Bahrain has been officially canceled. We will have more information as it becomes available.
 
FoxNews had a reporter in that region report that the race was off late last night. The reporter stated the people of Bahrian don't and didn't ever want F1 there in the 1st place, the people think building that race track was a terrible waste of the peoples money.

Yeah, I saw Rick Levinthal's report also. Actually this plays into Bernie's hands. He was probably going to cut a race next season and replace it with Austin, TX. Now with just a little shuffling Austin falls right into place.

There's a lot of pissed off people in that region. I don't see Abu Dhabi happening either.
