Fair Chance

do you think the reason NASCAR races are so long is so that all 43 cars have a fair chance to lead?

No. Nascar races are shorter in some instances. Dover used to be 500 miles. Now it is 400 miles. The road races used to be in miles. Now they use the same number, but it is Kilometers instead of miles. There has not been a race that has actually added miles in recent memory.

Not all 43 cars have a chance to lead except at the plate tracks.

I guess technically speaking, if you had enough cautinon flags, most of the cars could lead a lap, if they stay out an extra lap, but that is the only way I see that ever happening at a non-plate race.
