The Round of 16 is coming to a close this weekend at Dover. 4 names will be eliminated from championship contention at the end of the Citizen Soldier 400. Currently, @DanicaFreak (#7) is the only one that is safe from elimination with his 3rd win of 2016 at Loudon. That is, he must be present this weekend in order for that win to advance him into the Round of 12. Jakub Smetana (#42) has been without a doubt the strongest competitor of 2016. The overall point leader in Cup and Xfinity and Number 1 seed in both Xfinity and Truck Chases is impressive enough, but despite not winning any of the weekend's races, he actually swept all 3 Pole Positions! Smokegirl14 (#14) may be the only other player to be entering Dover with some comfort with a 25 point gap over the Chase cut-off. After her, things get much more stressful for our players, as the rest of the 10 players above the cut-off line are 11 points or less in the good, 7 of which are within 5 points of the cut-off.

Below the cut-off line, facing elimination, the stories are rather different. Slicedbread96 (#96) is just one point behind 12th place Showtime (#44). Petr Smetana (#43), who has 2 wins this season and has led the Chase grid through most of the year, is sitting outside of the advancing 12 by 8 points after posting a late prediction for Loudon. A win would not be good enough to advance him through to the next round, he must make it in by points. MJM (#84) has struggled so far in the Chase as the lowest finishing Chaser at Chicago and Loudon, finishing 35th and 29th, respectively. MJM sits 10 points out of the Top-12, but a win could advance him through regardless of points. And 10 points is not an impossible barrier to break. @Conner (#98) was absent at Loudon, and like Petr Smetana, a win is not enough to advance him to the Round of 12. He must recover from the 14 points that separate him and 12th place Showtime.

As we all know, Dover can be a bit of its own wild-card. Anything can happen towards our own Chase here. Nascarnana (#60) took the victory at Dover earlier this season by one of the smallest point totals of the season, 16 points. Only Martinsville and the Fall Bristol race saw a victor score less points. That could be a bad omen for players like Petr Smetana and Conner, but is relieving for players like Joey2448 and Oldschoolracing519. However, one can never rest easy with only an 8 point cushion.

In the Xfinity Series, Mik Maqracer83 (#29) was able to take his 3rd victory of the 2016 Xfinity season at Kentucky and rest comfortably for the next 2 races as we try to determine who will join Mik Maqracer83 in the Xfinity Round of 8. Jakub Smetana (#42), thanks to his astounding 5 victories, has a 14 point gap over the cut-off already and looks to grow that moving forward. All the other competitors stand within just 8 points of each other, and just 5 points of the cut-off line. BiffFan (#34) won the earlier race at Dover on the heels of Erik Jones' victory. Who will take home the checkered this week at the Monster Mile?

The Camping World Truck Series Chase began at Loudon and the Chase field has already spread out considerably after just one race. Jakub Smetana has a 20 point lead over 7th place Numbah10hatah (#38), who sits 6 points behind 6th place Kevin20fan (#20). @24over48 (#24) was the spoiler of the Chase party taking his first victory at the Magic Mile, so none of the 8 Chase players have laid a claim to the Round of 6 yet as they head to the 2nd event of the current Round of 8 at Las Vegas.

Once the offseason begins, a very detailed report of the rules of the game here will be laid out for you and I would be happy to take any questions you may have.

And I would continue to stress that returning players in 2017 may re-register with any name or number changes, along with a manufacture and color scheme. REMEMBER, do not worry whether or not someone else has a number you want. Listing multiple numbers may help me in these cases, but number conflicts will be settled at a later date. I still do not have manufacture information from Jolly Mean Giant or Maverick. AGAIN, I REALLY want to stress returning for another full-time season in 2017 with SO many things in store for an even bigger and better year! I need YOUR help to reach our 2017 goal of a minimum 50 FULL-TIME Cup players and 25 FULL-TIME Xfinity and Truck players!! I know earlier I had stated the goal was 40. But looking at where we're at now, we have somewhere between 30-35 full-time committed players in Cup. I believe we truly can push that number up to 50 for next year, but I can't do it without YOU!!
