[The Long Shot]

So folks may be wondering why the standings are the way they are and how come nothing has been changed in light of the recent situation with the website. I'd explain it myself, but since I've convinced the man who runs this thing to create an account on here so that he can communicate with everyone more directly, I'll let him do so when he finds the time. He'll have a lot to say, I'm sure.

It was David who won the MVP last week and locked himself into the Chase with 27 points!

Hello, everyone. My name is Tom, otherwise known as 24over48 in this Fantasy League. The Long Shot and I have been working on this Fantasy League since 2013, I've been a part of this since 2011, and the league itself formed back in 2010. The success of this league so far this year has me beyond excited and I wanted to personally thank you all for your participation and support this season.

I understand there were some major issues that were out of your hands. I can speak for everyone in the league when I say that you were all missed during that time. I also understand that some of you had been hoping to receive some points as compensation. Unfortunately, at the start of the year we had discussed absence policies and the final decision was that no predictions means no points. Obviously at the time, we had no idea a website crashing would be a possibility. While I understand it has been unfair to all of you to miss out those weeks, I felt it would also be unfair to the rest of the competitors if I started handing out points for predictions that weren't there.

If we were late in the season, my stance may have been different. But it is early and there are still plenty of opportunities to earn a spot in the Chase. I hope that you continue to play with us in 2016 and come back in 2017 as well. You are very important to this league and we want to do all we can to make you feel that way as well.

I'm aware that advertising other forums here is normally frowned upon, but I must let you all know that there are other means of posting predictions if we ever come across a scenario like we had weeks before. This league is run through racing-reference.info. Just check blogs by 24over48 (myself). We have a Facebook page with 718 likes, www.facebook.com/RRFantasyNASCAR, you can post predictions through the event pages that we have for the races. At the end of the season, all will have the opportunity to give your opinions on possible rule changes, so if you are unhappy with how we run things here, you will be more than welcome to voice those opinions and create change. We are always looking to improve this league each and every year. We will also have offseason voting for some season awards. Our activities do not end with the checkered flag at Homestead!

Right now, we have the opportunity for All-Star Voting. If you won a race in 2015 or 2016, you are qualified for the All-Star Race and will post predictions for the All-Star Race. Through here on racing-forums, #7 DanicaFreak and #69 Blaze88 are locked in the All-Star Race. Everyone else must still earn their spot in the All-Star. Everyone not in the All-Star Race will post predictions for both the Sprint Showdown AND the All-Star Race. The Top-2 finishing competitors in the Sprint Showdown will have their All-Star predictions counted. Another Showdown competitor will be voted into the All-Star, and that's where you all come in.

Along with your predictions, vote for 3 competitors not already in the All-Star race. 1st place votes are worth 3 votes, 2nd place votes are worth 2 votes, and 3rd place votes are worth 1 vote. The competitor with the most votes will then also have their All-Star prediction counted. Below is a list of the competitors that are not in the All-Star yet and need your vote! Note: you cannot vote for yourself, and you may vote once a week.
