I've been watching the final practice at Talladega and noticed on the screen they have a fast mph.Is that their straightaway speed because it seems a little faster than their average.

The speeds posted for q'ing are slower because the cars were running alone on the track.
In happy hour, the cars run in packs. The drafting makes the speeds much faster. 2 cars can go faster than 1. 3 cars go faster than 2. The more cars in line, the greater the speeds.
