Carnesville, GA (Jan-6) As a result of the enormous growth experienced throughout the 2008 season which saw 11,700 competitor entries in 732 FASTRAK Racing Series sanctioned events before 1.6 million race fans, the FASTRAK Racing Series has announced a new region: the FASTRAK Racing Series Mid-Atlantic Region. The geographical area the FASTRAK Mid-Atlantic Region will encompass includes parts of West Virginia, Virginia, Maryland and Delaware as well as portions of Southeastern Ohio. As the motorsports industry continues to grapple with somewhat of a shortage of organized rules based sanctioning entities where a level playing field environment is paramount, the FASTRAK Racing Series has availed itself to the Mid-Atlantic area of the country offering its unique brand of competitive racing while remaining true to its core founding values; putting racing back in the hands of the drivers.

Discussions relating to a FASTRAK Racing Series Mid-Atlantic Region commenced in August when FASTRAK Founder and CEO Stan Lester was approached by Kathy and David Hunter of Clintonville, WV. Throughout the process, Lester was quick to point out the challenges that lay ahead in creating a new region, reflecting on many of the challenges he himself encountered in creating the FASTRAK Racing Series. Undaunted, the Hunter’s not only demonstrated their passion for dirt track racing in general, but their committed belief in the FASTRAK Racing Series concept as well.

“We were fascinated by what we saw the first time we experienced a FASTRAK race. It was at Princeton WV, a FASTRAK Modern Chevrolet Southeast Touring Series race” said Kathy Hunter. “The entire event was so professionally orchestrated. The professional manner in which everything was done was impressive. The level of excitement in the grandstands was something we don’t usually see. We traveled to Wythe Raceway in Rural Retreat a few weeks later and observed the same thing. Professionalism in the manner in which the entire event was managed and excited race fans in the grandstands, seeing this at multiple venues is the thing that really heightened our interest in the FASTRAK Racing Series.

“Dirt track racing is gaining in popularity throughout the country as race teams seek to find more affordable venues in which to be a part of. Both David and I love dirt track racing. We’ve always wanted to see the market and driver base in our area expand and there is no better way in which to do that then the FASTRAK Racing Series.

“We are honored to be a part of an organization with such a universal clarity in how it operates and look forward to enhance our market with the best brand of dirt track racing in America today. What we love the most is the fact that FASTRAK is all about the drivers and race teams. FASTRAK recognizes the fact that the race teams who race week in and week out are the ones who make dirt track racing what it is”.
