Fathers day

I hope all the dads on here had a good day. Mine was great. Stayed at home all day with my wife and three year old son. Breakfast was ready when I got out of bed, cooked out for lunch, and then me and little buddy settled down with some ice cream and watched the Xfinity race. I can't think of a better way to spend my Father's Day.

My Dad has passed too. He was a machinist in a factory and was also an auto mechanic and a bit of a carpenter. The guy was smart. The one thing I feel bad about is that I didn't pay more attention when I was "helping him out" - basically giving him tools. I would have been a helluva-lotta smarter if I had paid more attention.

RIP Dad...you did good.

My dad passed in 1995. He was a very hard working man who built tires for Goodyear for 44 years among other things to raise 9 of us kids.

I heard my son telling a friend earlier in the day on Father's Day this year that the Cavs were going to be delivering the greatest gift I could get which would be an end to the 52 year drought of major professional sports championships in Cleveland. He was right as the Cavs won game 7 later that night and it was more than I could have hoped for.

Little late to the party, but I've mentioned my dad a few times on here. He passed in January of 2011. I'll spare you guys the essay and just say that if I ever have kids, I'll be happy if I even manage to be half as good of a dad as he was.
