Favorite Daytona 500 Moment

My favortie would have to be Mikey winning in 2001, but it was overshadowed big time. I can't blame it as getting over looked, but I think his win has been over looked. It was a great race and just had a tragic ending.
 
Johnny almost pulling off the upset in 2000 would have to be a close second. If it was not for that stupid FORD train that hooked up and left JB out to dry, JB would have been a winner long before his win in 2002
 
My favorite memmory is kinda biased but I think when Dale won and all the pit crews came out to give him high fives at end. Other than that my second favorite memory would have to be when there was the fight in turn 3 at the end. I think it was cale and somebody else.
 
cale a richard dirtymo my favorite was when rusty got airborne not to sound mean but i was tellin my mom he would get wrecked and it happened she got so pissed but it was funny good thing he was not seriously hurt
 
Sterling getting out of his car. But most of all DE's 1999 win.
 
i loved the one when de fliped nd ended up finishing the race that was good
 
I have 2 favorite moments...

Earnhardt's win in 99 and Ned Jarrett calling Dale home to win his (Dale's) first Daytona 500.
 
that was good to see ned so happy even though i cant stand him
 
Wasn't it 98 when Dale Sr won? I thought Gordon won in 99.
 
It was '98. I have to agree with nascarwomen, Jarrett winning the 500 with his dad in the broadcast booth and then win Earnhardt won and all the crews came out of give him high fives. I wasn't a fan yet when both happened but I've seen the tapes and they are pretty exciting.
 
I gotta go with Jarrett's win on this one, though there have been many very memorable moments. Having been an ABE fan, I will always remember the race that Cope won. Earnhardt had this one in the bag and then, on the last lap, a tire goes down.

That's ok, however, 'cuz I'm an old fart and my memory isn't what it used to be.:p
 
My favorite moment would be Kyle Petty winning the 2003 Daytona 500. But since I have a better chance of being the first pick in the NBA draft than of that happening, I will take a Jeff Gordon win. :D
 
ward burton being in the right place at the right time in 2002. second would be gordon taking a spin in the grass in 2002:D

that would be awesome. but i think one of the DEI boys are gonna take home that win.
 
My favorite was the 500 when Cale Yarboroughs head kept hitting the Allisons fist and feet. Then I would have to say the '98 500 when Dale Sr won. And then Mikeys win in '01 only to have it overshadowed by tragedy.
 
The 2002 Daytona 500, when Jeff Gordon wrecked and Sterling's tire was rubbing......then Ward took the lead to win!
 
I just like seeing them come to the green flag to open up the season:)
