The majority of my favorite movies are Eastwood movies. I'd have to say some of the top ones are Hang 'Em High, The Outlaw Josie Wales, Unforgiven, Coogan's Bluff, and Gran Torino.

Other various favorites are The Blues Brothers, Shawshank Redemption, Once Upon a Time in America, The Deer Hunter, Cape Fear (original), and some others I can't remember off the top of my head.

I was more into movies as a kid. The only movies I watch now are made by either Disney, Pixar, or Dreamworks. But I'm not complaining. I look forward to some as much as my daughter.

My two favorites are Urban Cowboy and Sideways. I can watch them over and over again.

Here's a scene from Sideways. Two friends are going to an out of town restaurant to meet and join a couple of women. One of the guys is out to sew his last, wild oat before his forthcoming wedding. The other has just come out of a relationship that ended on a sour note, and he's in no mood to encourage and condone his friend's behavior.

.......and roll it!!!

I never even heard of Sideways, but I might have to check it out after seeing that clip and off of your recommendation.

Oh, and The Princess Bride should have been in my list somewhere too. How did I forget that one? I was just quoting it a couple of days ago.

Also, 12 Angry men is a great older movie too. I've never been much of a Henry Fonda fan, but he does a really great job in that movie. If you like good drama, and can live without action and special effects it is just a great movie. It can be a little bit overacted at times, but considering the time it was released, that isn't unusual at all.

Its a hard question for me to answer because I watch so many movies. I have always said that my most favorite movie was Where Eagles Dare, a movie that Eastwood said that he shouldn't have made, but he and Richard Burton were so good together. I'm fancy WW II movies overall with The Longest Day and The Great Escape being right up there. I also love almost all of John Wayne's movies and one of my favorites of his has to be Donovan's Reef. Can't forget In Harms Way. I will also add the series Band of Brothers, though I'm not sure you would call that series a movie.

The more I mention, the more I think of.

Small list of some of my favorites.

Shawshank Redemption
Fried Green Tomatoes
Catch 22
Animal House
Blues brothers
1941
Mr. Roberts
Silverado
Unforgiven
The Shootist
The Cowboys
Patton
Bronx Tale
Blade Runner
Blazing Saddles
The Outlaw Josie Wales
Awakenings

I think in the last 5 years the quality of movies in general has gone down dramatically. Outside of Avatar I haven't watched a movie lately that I could actually say was good. It seems no mind is paid to story line, movies are thrown together with some special effects, a few action scenes, and expected to make millions at the box office.

Evil Roy Slade was a pilot for a tv series that never was made. If you ever catch it on tv it's one of the funniest movies i've ever seen.

Evil Roy Slade was a comedic masterpiece.

Two Lane Blacktop............ Best car movie ever made.
Easy Rider........... Best Biker movie ever made
Winning......... Best racing movie ever made.

Please do. Great script. Just make sure there aren't any kiddies around - there is brief nudity and adult situations.

You need to check out "Country Strong" then. I don't even like country music but I ended up really liking this movie. No special effects at all. Even the lead male actor learned how to play the guitar for the live songs to be real looking and feeling, plus even to his and the movies producers surprise he could even sing.
