 ...it looks like Tropical Storm/Hurricane Fay may be delaying the start of the new school year here! Students were to report Monday (we teachers went back last week), but the forecast track isn't looking like that is going to happen! Time to stock up on water, batteries and P B & J! ;)

I wish you guys all the luck in the world. Let's hope little Fay stays weak and not become a full hurricane. But I've heard that she's already caused the death of two people from all the rain. Got your hip waders?

Just looked at the five day cone and it shows that we could get some much needed rain. Of course by the time it gets to us here in NC, it will just be a storm with rain.

Tropical Storm.

Pfft.

If it wasn't a Category 3 storm or greater, it wasn't worth waking up for in Lee County.

:sarcasm:

I don't think it'll do much. I think it'll die out over Cuba.

Well, schools are closed Monday down here. Fay is still a Tropical Storm but may stregthen after crossing Cuba and entering the FL straits/gulf of Mexico although it won't get to be anything close to a major storm. The million dollar question seems to be where it will exit Cuba's north coast and when it comes off shore if it will continue going NW or change directions. There have been many similar storms in the past that switch directions after crossing Cuba's mountains. Now comes the waiting game with 24/7 news coverage!
