Federal Express, which once was in the running to be the title sponsor of NASCAR's top series before Nextel came on board, has been in talks with both Joe Gibbs Racing and Dale Earnhardt Inc. Word in the garage: Fed Ex will end up on a third Cup car for the 2005 season at JGR with J.J. Yeley, a Busch rookie this season, behind the wheel. But Gibbs says it's too early to commit. "Right now, we're in the process of moving through things, and we can't announce anything because the deal isn't done," Gibbs says. "We've been in conversations for a long time but right now it's just a work in progress.

I have seen this guy race folks. He is going to a champion! I would put money on it.

Ya gotta love these Young Guns! Seems none of them have any fear! I will be watching him closely!!

Yeah, he really can. While in USAC he was sponsored by Tony Stewart Racing. The kid has got same definite game...

He has been wreck'en everything he has been racing lately, but that's ok.. He will be a champ.. i would put money on it.

Sweet now he can wreck a cool looking fed ex car every week in cup like he does in busch.

I'll bet JJ Yeley don't wreck to many cup cars.

Anyone remember a few years ago this kid that was running the ABC plan for Penski? I thought what the heck is he thinking, this kid's running over everything!!
Well we all know now. LOL I think it takes the openwheelers a season or 2 to really get the feel for the full bodied cars. Ryan has sure shown he knows how to handle one. :D

If JGR doesn't get it and DEI does. Could be a Possible Sponser for Truex B)

JJ is one great driver...has the spirit and drive to make it into the big leagues.

I agree!

I hope he has potential, he seems to mash up everything as of yet...in the nashville busch race, he wrecked multiple times...pretty scary stuff.

he will learn.... i have faith in him. i think he will be exremely successful. He just needs to calm down a bit and finish races.

all i can say is im happy that we are not talking bout Johnny Sauter causing unneeded cautions. He's been pretty good for the past few weeks.

Yeah, like in the NEXTEL All - Star race... Oh I'm sorry, he wasn't in that one...LOL

although, i thought yeley had a decent sponsor already...or is it only a part time sponsor?

Good drivers, good equipment... he will win one day. If not, he will help he team win.

jimmy (crybaby) johnson couldn't stick his own finger up his butt in busch but he sure can drive a cup car. could be the same for Yeley

Isn't he the one that won alot of titles last year and crashes alot this year

Don't count out Chad Knaus in that equation.

Look at what some other USAC champions are now...such as Jeff Gordon, Tony Stewart, Ryan Newman and Kasey Kahne. Even Mike Bliss, Ken Schrader and the late Kenny Irwin Jr are all USAC Champions. USAC drivers know how to drive extremely well. Its just a matter of time before he learns how long the races are and how to save his equipment.
