Field Fillers this weekend...

As reported by Jayski, Andy Belmont is planning to run in the Nextel Open at Lowe's Motor Speedway with his own #59 and Carl Long will once again let Jaret's Angels come along for the ride on his #46 Dodge NASCAR NEXTEL Open entry.

WHY??

I can understand the passion of racing, but with such limited budgets, why take a chance on busting up your equipment on a non-points race?

These guys aren't in for the points. They aren't going to achieve anything more by running a points race than a non-points race.

As for Long, he the truck chief on one of the CTS trucks. The number of races he can do in Cup in logistically limited. This one where he can do the logistics.

If you have to set up a PayPal button on your website for people to donate money to help rebuild your car after you tank it at The Rock, you might want to think about racing in a sub-series to the CUP. It is very dangerous to race like that.

I am all for filling the field, but there needs to be a limit.
 
Anyone want to take odd of any feild-fillers making the transfer to the big show?LOL

the only place i think that the field fillers would have a chance would be at the restrictor plate tracks. As long as they stayed with the lead group they could still have a chance. Anyone can win at the restrictor plate tracks

Start off with a big one.

BTW... not a single one will make the final race this weekend.
 
These Field Fillers as we call them. They are not concerned about points. They know they don't stand a real chance in the points race. Dollars are more important to them than points. :cheers:

I don't think any of these so called "field fillers" will win.........and probably won't make the final. But how cares? Those guys deserve to give it a shot just as much as Jr, Jeff, Kurt, Mark, DJ, Jimmie, Jamie or any other driver in the series. They make it through inspection and they put up whatever the entrance fee is, let 'em race!! Hell, I'll even root for them to win! :cheers: This weekend's race is for fun............fun for the fans! Yeah there's a big prize for the winner...........but what a dream come true for one of those "field fillers" to take it home!! :D
