Fire At The Harvick's Home

A Delana firesuit joke coming to a thread near you in Dec 2013.

That's why you should never deep fry a turkey in the basement. All jokes aside, i'm glad everyone is ok.

The Harvick's are homeless.....

Kevin Harvick won't be able to live in his home for another four to six months because of a Nov. 27 fire at his North Carolina residence. Harvick told reporters Friday following the Sprint Cup Series Awards in Las Vegas that the fire started when the floor joist underneath the fireplace caught on fire between the downstairs ceiling and the upstairs floor. "We couldn't really find the fire but it was basically just sitting between the two floors getting bigger and bigger and bigger," Harvick said. "When we walked downstairs, there was probably three foot of smoke from top to bottom from one end of the house to the other. So we were very fortunate. & We were very lucky with our home. The fire alarm pretty much saved our house." Initially, Harvick thought he would be back in his home by February. "The more we dig into it, the worse it gets," Harvick said. "They told us (Thursday) that we're four to six months (before returning)." The Harvicks have been living in their motorhome while looking for a place to stay.

It's just heartbreaking to know the Harvick's are homeless during the holiday season.
We should start a collection of money and canned goods to get them through their time of need.

Be strong Harvick family!

I hope they arent going hungry :(
Poor Harv

My grandmother and grandfather had a fire similar in nature years ago. To repair it, the fireplace had to be completely torn out, along with the walls and ceiling surrounding the fireplace. Took months to get it all back in working order.

While I'm sure Kevin and the family won't be without a place to live, it is sad to see anyone's home disrupted. And fire is particularly scary.

A house fire, no matter how small or who it belongs to, is no laughing matter, I know.

Kevin, if you are listening, you and your family are welcome to stay with me. Seriously, rent free.

Please bring Budweiser while you still can...

One tractor trailer full would be nice.

Damn!

Harvick living with his mother-in-law

from jayski.....

If fans thought Kevin Harvick living in his motorhome after a Nov. 27 fire at his house was rough, his new living quarters would make some people cringe. He's living with his mother-in-law. Actually, it's really not that bad for Harvick, his wife DeLana and 18-month-old son Keelan. "We're living at DeLana's mother's house it's been awesome," Harvick said Monday during the Sprint Media Tour. "It's been fun, honestly. I get along with her mom great." The fire started when a floor joist underneath the fireplace caught fire between the downstairs ceiling and the upstairs floor. The fire alarm woke up the family and saved the house from being burned to the ground. The Harvicks won't get back into their house until May after the fire heavily damaged the $4.78-million home. Harvick was living in Oak Ridge, N.C., and his mother-in-law lives in Kernersville, just about 10 minutes away.

Damn, the fire damage didn't seem to be that extensive. Maybe they decided to do a total rip out and use different materials for fire safety.

I have never lived in a million dollar motor coach, but i have driven and spent a lot of time in a few of them, and i wouldn't have any problem staying in one for a few months. I'm pretty sure i would choose the motor coach first.:)
