Haha ...had a funny situation when I was in the Navy (funny but kinda sad)...we had a new Ensign come aboard (like a 2nd Lt. in the Army - brand new out of school - name was Fred). The Navy was pushing Total Quality Management (TQM) at the time for it's Officers (I was a full LT - Department Head - relatively experienced). So part of the deal was to have a meeting once a month or so in order that the Captain got all of our inputs.
Most of us were smart enough to know that the Captain (senior career navy officer) really didn't give a ___ about our inputs - he was the boss - and it was only a drill - So the Captain says as how he wants our inputs on his leadership style - and of course we all just clammed up. Except for new Ensign Fred who was just out of Leadership and Management School and proceeded to fill the Captain in on all the new Leadership techniques he had been taught. He went on and on and the Captain just sat there listening with a wry smile.
Last thing the Skipper wanted was some wet-behind-the ears kid telling him how to run his ship.
I was thinking (Fred - shut up man!)..but it was too late...he was gone by the end of the month....short career.
