They pose three questions each Friday to discuss. I thought maybe some would like to do that here.

  • Name one underrated driver in NASCAR.

  • Are you convinced that it is only a two man battle between Johnson & Keselowski for the Championship?

  • Should NASCAR and Indy join forces? (Yeah, I know there's another thread but it was one of the three)

I think that there are many underrated drivers in NASCAR. I think that the equipment is the biggest deciding factor in the difference in these drivers for the most part. I'm going with Regan Smith. Heck, he was running great in Dale Jr.'s ride. I would have liked to see him in there longer just to see more of the results.

I just can't see either Johnson or Keselowski screwing up over these next three. I fear that it is just a two man race on out but I sure hope something happens like blown engines or a pit road mistake that brings these two back to the field. I'm rooting for Bowyer.

While I'd probably attend an IRL race or two if they were parred up on a given weekend, I'm not an Indy Car fan so I'd say no.

Regan Smith

One or both of the two will probably screw up, almost happened last weekend.

Absolutely NOT.

I can think of quite of few overrated drivers very quickly :) I'll say Trevor Bayne. He's a great mix of aggressive and smart. He runs really well in the races he gets an oppurtunity in Cup and Nationwide.

Yes, it's a two man Chase IMO. Without any mechanical failures, I don't see the 48 team stumbling. They've been through this 5 times before. Brad won't get to JJ's head either.

NO!!! NASCAR and Indy should not join forces. Indycar is the worst sanctioning body in motorsports and the team owners have taken giant steps recently to insure the sport remains irrelevant . NASCAR and Indy are oil and water, so are their fans. NASCAR has nothing to gain by this and a lot to lose.

Bowyer. I Like the way he moves the HMS lumps when they wont get out of the way ;)

No

Not sure.

I wonder if Ambrose has more to offer.

No

NASCAR running Indycars would be better than Tony George or the team owners running it. But I think NASCAR would probably be bad for open wheel racing.

Smith

No, Kahne is still in it

Yes

I gotta agree with Smith. He's been scoring me major fantasy points for three years. Still, I rather see him in a quality N'wide ride than a third tier Cup one. Maybe it will serve as a springboard to something better later.

Two man race. Sorry, there isn't enough here to discuss.

I don't think open wheel will play second fiddle. We're working that topic over elsewhere.

I believe that all of the 35th to 43rd place drivers in Cup are underrated on this forum . These guys can ,and have , beat most all of the other drivers in the country to reach the highest level of stock car racing in the entire country. To me , that is an incredible achievement in itself . I see guys like Kenny Wallace and David Reutiman dropping down to a lower series and winning with ease .The fact that they can't beat Jimmy Johnson doesn't diminish them in my eyes.
