The NASCAR Hall of Fame has added five new people to the list of 25 nominees under consideration for the 2012 class.

The new additions are Martinsville Speedway founder H. Clay Earles, 1970 champion Bobby Isaac, 1966 championship owner Cotton Owens, former NASCAR executive Les Richter, and Wood Brothers co-owner Leonard Wood.

Richter was elected to the NFL Hall of Fame in February. He moved to motorsports after his football career, first as president of Riverside International Raceway and then as a NASCAR executive.

The other 20 nominees for the Hall of Fame returned from last year's list. The nominees are picked by a 21-person committee.

The third induction class will be selected in June by a 54-member panel, plus a fan vote selected on NASCAR.com.

Who will be next to get enshrined in NASCAR's Hall of Fame? Meet the 2012 finalists

Well we all must know that Waltrip will get in this year just too shut his mouth about it. The way he acted when was passed over last year made him look like a spolied 5 year old not getting his way.

Nothing would make me happier then seeing him overlooked again. Many relevant names should be considered ahead of him.

As far as Waltrip goes, IMO if Bobby Allison made it in I don't know how they can deny Waltrip any longer. Yarborough too. All three's stats are pretty much a mirror of each other. I'm not a fan of Waltrip and never liked his personality but I can't deny his stats or his continued promotion of the sport.

It surprises me more the names that are left off of the list each year. How about some of the media that made this sport? Where the heck is Barney Hall's name on there? How about Ken Squier, Chris Economaki, or Tom Higgins? These guys also helped put NASCAR out there to the masses.

I think that all 25 will eventually make it in. I just think it's tough to choose the order that will happen. Do you do it from their stats? Contributions to the sport? Do you start with the pioneers of the sport? Tough call IMO. All deserving.

H.O.F.

I think Darrell being so silly and too much of him on TV will cost him again this tear.
