There were four football games on Thanksgiving day, three pro and one college and all four games were turkeys to say the least. Poor hapless Detroit. Though they were playing one of the best teams in the NFL in Tennessee, I did think that they would at least put on a fairly good show, but that wasn't to be. Then the other annual turkey day game with Dallas vs. whomever, the Cowboys put a hurtin' on Seattle, another pitty poor team. The nightcap of the NFL pitten the Eagles against the up and coming Arizona Cardinals. But that too was a blowout for Philly. The game that I was really paying attention to was the college game between Texas and the team they lost to the last two times they played, Texas A&M. This game is one that UT had to show how much better they are than the Oklahoma Sooners and "style" points would be a must. Also, it could be the last game that Colt McCoy could show what he has for the Heisman trophy. Those Longhorns did their thing and won 49-9 and McCoy had a sentational game to say the least. Now they have to wait until this weekend's game between the Sooner and their cross state rivals, OSU Cowboys, a team that is very good and ranked 12th.

Anyone who watched that game was sure to see all those signs in the stands that read 45-35, which was in reference to UT's win over OU. I wonder if we'll see any signs that read 524-478 in the game at Stillwater, OK. Those numbers are the total of the scores of OU over the total of the scores of UT before the A&M game. The one thing that remains to be seen at this time is what happens this coming Saturday. If OU has a so-so game and wins by a few scant points, no doubt that UT will remain ranked higher than the Sooners and will of course go on to play Missouri for the Big 12 title and the right to play for the national title. For OU to win that right, they must first beat OSU, but they must also impress the voting judges who rank the college teams, thus the "style" points that are needed. Also, Sam Bradford, the quarterback for OU is in the hunt too for the Heisman trophy and must have a stellar game if he is to win that award. So the Sooners have the power to do all they can to impress those who vote and then wait to see how the computer ranks the two teams to face Mizz. All of this of course leaves out the other team that is tied for the lead in the southern Big 12, Texas Tech, who beat UT, but was beaten by OU. But believe it or not, even TT still has a chance to play for the national title if, and those are very big IFs, one OU gets beat by OSU, UT gets beat by Mizz, Alabama beats Florida, USC gets beat by Notre Dame :)eek:) and so on and so forth. On second thought, TT really has no chance so forget all of that. :)

buck, you sure got that right. None of them were even interesting.

I'm hoping the game in Stillwater is a barn burner.

I spent most of the day at my brother's house and didn't watch one minute of either of the first two games. I was really looking forward to the 8pm game on NFL network. I watched most of it, but it was hard to watch. I really like Kurt Warner and therefore the Cardinals are a team I root for currently. I can't stand Donovan McNabb or the Eagles. But of course, the Eagles just demolished the Cardinals after Warner threw two quick interceptions.
