It seems to me that no other manufacturer has lost so many top dog drivers as has Ford. With the latest cast of charactors leaving Ford for Chevy, Dodge and Toyota, is Ford destined to go with unknowns and rookies? It's one thing for young unknowns to move from one to another such as with Jeff Gordon from Ford to Chevy, or Matt Kenseth from Chevy to Ford, or for Kasey Kahne from Ford to Dodge, but when you get Mark Martin to move from Ford to Chevy, Jeff Burton from Ford to Chevy, Kurt Busch from Ford to Dodge, Dale Jarrett from Ford to Toyota, and with the move of some of the older, retired drivers such as Elliott and Wallace both moving from Ford to Dodge, I wonder why Ford can't keep those top notch drivers. With Martin's move, it only proves that for the drivers, it's not a matter of loyalty to a certain make. I'm sure that Bill Elliott's father rolled over in his grave when Bill did race a Chevy in a Busch race, but when he made the switch from Ford to Dodge for his full time ride, Papa Elliott was probably doing flip flops. With RYR now seeming slipping to the rear of the pecking order, maybe even behind the single car effort of the Wood Brothers, and with the rules limiting Roush to only four teams, is Ford racing falling to the wayside?

so does roush change manufacturer's? we know all he wants is wins. if ford can't supply the support necessary for championships i don't see roush sticking with them.

I can't see Jack changing manufacturers since he's been a Ford man for probably all his life. Of course, it all depends on whether or not Ford continues in this sport.

10 years ago the majority of the field was made up of Fords...Ford decided that they really wanted to put their money into Roush and Yates.....Yates has gotten behind big time..and it leaves ford with basically only Roush....they need to expand back out and try to take on a few more teams.

With the financial situation troubling the Big Three American auto manufacturers, it is doubtful any of them will put major bucks into NASCAR until things level out a bit.
Ford and GM are hurting, big time, moreso than Damiler /Chrysler. Until they regain financial stability and raise the bond rating, they will be head pressed to justify continuation of spending the large sums of money they have in the past.
