That was in this weeks ESPN mag.

I'm not going to say that Murray and Peay is a bigger rivalry then Duke and UNC. But then smaller schools get looked over alot of time durring rivalry games. The last time Murray and Peay met was on ESPNU @ Murray. Peay won by one point. With about 6 secs Murray took a shot and was blocked. It's always a close game between the two. I am going to make the trip down to Clarksville tonight to watch the game. I know that these team will never been in the national spot light very much. The OVC is a low tier conf, and almost always goes out in the 1st round of the NCAA tourny. (Last few times Murray has gone they have gave the team a run for their money, and i think the last 2 or 2 of 3 were the teams that went on to win the national championship) Murray was ranked #30 as ESPN gratest mens basketball programs. I know i got off track. But i guess i'll leave you with this....FLUSH PEAY!

MSU-APSU 108TH MEETING: The Murray State Racers travel to the Dunn Center In Clarksville, Tenn. for a Saturday 7:30 p.m. game against the Austin Peay Governors. The Racers carry a three-game winning streak into the contest having defeated Tennessee State Wednesday night in Nashville 88-58. MSU also defeated Southeast Missouri at home (80-55) Jan. 24, and Eastern Illinois at home (58-46) on Jan. 22 and have won four of their last five.

RIVALRY GETS SOME LOVE FROM ESPN: Just how big is the rivalry between the Murray State Racers and Austin Peay Governors? So big that ESPN The Magazine ranked the annual clashes on the court between the two OVC titans among the best college basketball rivalries in the nation in the February edition.

THE FIRST MEETING: Jan. 10, the Govs got away from Murray with a 58-57 win in a game came down to the last two possessions where one shot went in and the other rolled off. Drake Reed scored in the lane with 10.4 seconds left, before MSU’s Danero Thomas got off a jumper in the lane about five feet from the basket with three seconds left, but it bounced hard off the rim. MSU’s 11-game home OVC winning streak was snapped. APSU’s win at the RSEC was only their second in 10 tries and their first since 2003. APSU has only nine all-time wins in Murray since the series began in 1941. Conversely, winning in Clarksville has been tough for MSU. Their only win this decade at the Dunn Center came in 2006.

THE QUEST FOR 1,000: Tyler Holloway is closing on becoming the 34th member of the Murray State 1,000-Point Club. After his eight points against TSU, he has 971 points. He’s gunning to be the first to get to 1,000 since Shawn Witherspoon joined the club in 2007. Danero Thomas is well on his way to joining the club. He starts the day with 757 career points and is on track get there next season as a senior. Holloway is also ranked fourth on MSU’s all-time made three-pointer list with 182. Given his recent good shooting, Holloway has a chance to catch third place Justin Burdine before the season is finished. Burdine played for the Racers from 1998-02 and finished with 198.

Just how big is the rivalry between the Murray State Racers and Austin Peay Governors?

So big that ESPN The Magazine ranked the annual clashes on the court between the two Ohio Valley Conference titans among the best college basketball rivalries in the nation in the February edition.

In the article, ESPN quoted students at a particular university about a rivalry.

MSU student Ron Beaton, of Kennett, Mo., was selected to speak about the Racers-Govs rivalry.

“Forget Duke-UNC, the real rivalry is Austin Peay-Murray State!” Beaton said.

The article also mentioned the rivalries between; South Carolina-Clemson, Utah-BYU, Indiana-Purdue, Howard-Hampton, Cal Poly-San Luis Obispo, Penn-Princeton, Pittsburgh-West Virginia, Calvin-Hope, and Saint Joseph’s-Villanova.

The Racers travel to Clarksville, Tenn., Saturday for the 108th meeting in the series.

Tip off at the Dunn Center is set for 7:30 p.m

MURRAY STATE vs. AUSTIN PEAY
Ron Beaton, 22, Murray State

Forget Duke—UNC, the real rivalry is Austin Peay—Murray State. Whenever Austin Peay comes to town, it's standing room only in RSEC. And they make their presence known, which is pretty obnoxious. I'll admit they have a cgood cheer in "Let's go Peay," but we drown them out with "Flush the Peay." I've gone to games at their place, and they use slightly more foul language: "Muck Furray State" is a fun one. But it's probably because they're jealous; I know they wish they had 20 OVC titles and 13 OVC tournament championships. And let's be honest, nobody wants to root for urine.

The situation this season: Austin Peay won their game on January 10, 58-57. They play again on February 7.

Well Murray lost by 3. 80-83

The fans are Peay are the classless people i have even seen. No respect at all. The band called 2 of Murray fans fat. (girls) (the band is right in front of the vistor section) I got fliped off by the tuba player. Had a very bad "your mom joke" tossed my way by the drummer. I was pissed. I can take crap you toss my way about ME. someone cracked on my gotee or whatever you call it. I said something about the dudes long hair. But i dont make commiets about someone who is not there. I know not all the fans are classless there, but most of the students are.

BP, i need your help on some signs and stuff to get back at them.
