A former player for the Phoenix Suns basketball team was arrested Friday in Arizona on suspicion of pilfering $14,000 worth of tech goodies from an Apple store, police said. Rex Chapman, 46, allegedly stole a trove of products valued at $14,000 over multiple visits using the self-checkout system at a Scottsdale, Arizona, branch of the Apple store — without actually paying, according to a police statement.

He allegedly took the items to a local pawn shop and hawked them for cash. Chapman — who also played for the Charlotte Hornets, the Washington Bullets and the Miami Heat during a 12-year career in the NBA — was identified by witnesses who told authorities they recognized him because of his celebrity. He was arrested Friday on a traffic stop. Chapman faces nine counts of organized retail theft and five counts of trafficking in stolen property — all felonies.

Sports Illustrated estimated in 2009 that 78 percent of NFL players are bankrupt or facing serious financial stress within two years of ending their playing careers and that 60percent of NBA players are broke within five years of retiring from the game

I recommend ESPN's 60 for 60 called "Broke"

Good watch.
