Anyone here play the Formula D boardgame? I've been a big fan of it for a while now, and I play the new 2008 version of it with my nephew.

For those that don't know, Formula D is a boardgame version of Formula 1. The original version was made by a French company, and thus has also gone by the names of Formule De and Formula De.

It's for 2-10 players, and takes about an hour to play. Basicly, each player picks a car and "dashboard" that tracks stats like fuel, tires, damage, etc. Then you take turns rolling different dice for the gear you're in, and moving the number of spaces shown. Making sure to end your turn the required number of times inside the corners marked on the track.

The 2008 version of the game also has a new ruleset for illegal street racing. This alternate game uses different cars, drivers, and the reverse side of the board with a city track. It's more fast-paced, and action oriented than the traditional F1 rules.

Anyway, I highly recommend it. It's good for families and ages 5+. Kids just need a basic understanding of boardgames (rolling dice, moving pieces, etc) to play the basic rules. More advanced players have optional rules like qualifying, weather, and debris.

There's also a free, fan-made online version of the classic game. The website is French, but all you need to do is download the Exe file to install, plus any additional tracks you want to use. You can play offline against the AI, or online with other players.

The official online version of the 2008 game can be found at the link below. It's only in French at the time, and it's not free as you need to pay to download additional tracks.
