I guess he was serious. A bit extreme but Truex was running well until they screwed up. I bet they are on their toes this week.

Extreme, I don't know but you gotta figure that if your job is to change a tire on a Cup car, I'd venture to guess that the #1 rule is to get it tight. Heck, he had to pit for a loose wheel and when he went back out he had another one. From the lead to two laps down, that's gotta suck.

this is the first i recall martin ever getting publicly ticked off at members of his crew, or anyone for that matter. since it was out of character for him i glad that what he said was taken seriously. you can't win a championship, or make the chase, with a pit crew that doesn't perform well.
"We had a very good car at Richmond. It was the best car I've ever had there," Truex said in a team release. "The last five weeks have been very tough on this team. We've run well and have very little to show for it."

Truex attempted to bite his tongue after earlier incidents, but found he could not do so after mishaps on pit road ruined a potentially strong finish at Richmond. After running in the top five much of the night and even leading Laps 246-257 of the 400-lap event, he ended up 27th after first having to pit for a loose wheel and then learning later that he had to return to the pits again for a loose lug nut on yet another tire.

The poor finish left Truex 22nd in points heading into Darlington.

I agree 100%...if your job is to put lug nuts on and you can't get that straight then it's time to find another job.
 
Truex sucks....1 win in almost 200 sprint cup races...He must drive cheap for MWR.....If he drove for Jack Rousch he would have been sent packing long ago....Next week he goes back to the ONLY track he won at so far while in sprint cup....If he does well, it will look like the pit crew move had an effect.....NOT that he has a better feel for this track than any other. Timing and politics go hand in hand when your trying to preserve a lackluster career..............

Update... He threw a seasoned crew chief under the bus today (Pat Tryson)...He's OUT...Looks like the exit door is slowly inching OPEN for this Truex clown

Truex isn't the problem, MWR is.

David Reutimann would run **** in a Childress or Gibbs car -- he'd make the Chase every year.

Truex won't have a problem finding another ride. Gibbs, maybe? I don't see Gibbs keeping Logano in the #20 car if he doesn't find a way to win a couple races this season.

I hate to say it but Steve LeTarte has been pretty impressive in turning Jr around this season.


Truex wasn't doing all that bad when DEI was one of the top teams. Seems that MWR just can't seem to make a good car. Compare Ambrose last year in a Waltrip car to how much better he's done in basically a Roush car this season. I'm not ready to call Truex a bust just yet.

Crew member did need to go on Truex's team. Was it Richmond where Truex basically had the race won, fastest car all night, and lost it because of a really ****ty pit stop? And that wasn't the only time his pit crew cost him sure thing top-five finishes.

Truex's best bet would be to go to Gibbs. Joey Logano isn't worth a ****.

Yea, his team has bent him over a couple of times. As far as Logano goes, I'd rather have Truex as my driver than him. Talk about way to much hype, he's it.
 
Hendrick, RCR,Gibbs, & Roush are Winning rides!! Truex needs one of those...

I guess he could have done what Knaus & Johnson did. Just take a teammates crew. Who cares how they do! ;-)
