FOX Considering Waltrip Squared on TV

Yeah, I can deal with one Waltrip at a time but the two in tandem...no way.

which waltrip gets a reality series first? dancing with the stars?

Note to self: Learn to use mute button or closed caption.

There is no considering. This is a done deal, has been for some time.

I can live with it because I'm probably only going to be able to watch about 6 or 7 races this year anyway.

I have a dvr. But we are running the full tour this year and I will probably stay out for 2 to 3 months at a time. I'm not really interested in watching a race that long after it was ran, and by the time I get home I will already know the out come anyway. But that's ok because I can fire up the laptop and get all the info I need from you guys.:)

Don't forget unbiased;)

That's obvious, right?

DW: Oh Mikey, the boys are back in town baby! Boogitty, boogitty, boogitty! I love you Mikey.

MW: I like you too. Aarons likes you too.

DW: I'm a hall of famer baby! It took a long time, but I made it look easy!

MW: You Aarons lucky dog! OH, look at Bowyer in the 5 hour energy car burning up the track pushing into the top 15!

DW: Look at him go! He just caught Truex ......

MW.....in the NAPA car...

DW: 5 hour energy and a NAPA together? You're funny Mikey.

I'll mute the TV and listen to my beavis and butthead audio tapes while watching the race.

That's not a bad plan. You will just improvise.:)

I don't see what the big deal is. I would much rather see former drivers on TV than "media people" who can only speculate what it feels like to be in a race. And I'm not putting down any of the other media people, most of them do a great job. But they weren't drivers.

Sure, both Waltrips are goofy. But that kind of makes it fun. Like a clown at a birthday party. :D

More often than not, DW as way out their in his analysis of what happened, and MW is annoying with his constant sponsor mentions. Overdone. Besides, John Wayne Gacy was a clown too. ;)

Now, the new management at FOX Sports is brushing aside those issues and banking on the fact that the reaction to the younger Waltrip, both good and bad, will lead to a bump in the TV ratings. Despite the PR spin of last season, NASCAR TV ratings are far below the popularity of the sport only four or five years ago.

I call b**s***

Well they're both on Twitter every day so there will be unlimited opportunities for the fans to share their opinion with the two of them. If enough fans complain things will change.

Well guess I'm in the minority here, but I'll be ok with both of them. Gotta have something to pass the time between lap 20 and 20 to go, and it sure ain't drivers racing.

Careful. Someone may have to pull your racing-forums.com hard-card. :D

Wont bother me any, I watch almost all the Cup races off the dvr and I fast forward alot......maybe I should pick up some spare batterys for the remote.

I would add Rusty Wallace and Buddy Baker to the list of irritating announcers , but the worst ever , IMO , Ken Squier

You're right, Ken Squire was pretty bad. And personally, I did not like Baker, his voice was nasally and annoying.

Really? To each their own. I absolutely love Ken Squier. I was sad to see him go off the airways of CBS. But Mike Joy eventually grew on me.

As for the Waltrips, count me as one of the few here who don't mind them.
