I think fox has hired someone from google to program the new scoring ticker across the top of the screen, because who ever designed it doesn't know anything about NA$CAR viewers or even care what they think. I hope ESPN doesn't follow suit.

This is a terrible change to their site . I apologize for recommending it to others . Hope it will be back to normal on raceday.

What is different? I haven't had a chance to watch anything today. Are we talking television or something online?

Brian France doesnt know anything about Nascar viewers and damn sure dont care what they think.

Brian France has nothing to do with Fox Sports animated broadcast graphic design...

Guys, it's just a scoring ticker. The sun will still rise tomorrow I promise you. If the race coverage on TV bothers you that much, listen to MRN.

Point was, if Brian dont care why should Fox ??? I realize who Brian France is and what he does

I just want to know who told them to change the way the scoring was done? What was so terrible they had to change it?

Can it get any worse?.The stupid thing is flicking around without any rhyme or reason. I have tried to watch it to find out some of the drivers positions who weren't in the camera's eye and it is really hard to do, and you can't tell who is making a run or how far behind the leaders they are or even if they are a lap down? why is it there?

True that.

You can tell that system is broken.

Last week they stayed on 1-9 for a whole segment. Couldn't tell who was 10th or otherwise.

What a ****** system.

Given the feedback, I doubt ESPN or NBC will ever try this.

I've never liked the scrolling ticker, you could only see 3 positions at a time and I could never watch it long enough to go through the field (or remember the order). The new one is better because you can see 9 positions. With a wide screen TV I'd like to see the leader pole (position/car number) displayed on the side of the screen.

Way back when ESPN broadcast all the races they would periodically display a list of 10 positions (1-10, 11-20, etc.) it was easier to scan than a scrolling ticker. It was easier to follow what was happening further back in the race; some of us like to follow more than the front runners and we all like to follow our favorites as they come up through the field.

I'm OK with the one they're using now, but the one that took up the entire right side of the screen during Speedweeks was horrible. Still like the scroll better though.

I don't like it because you have to move your eyes all over the place to read through it, and it's hard to do that and watch the race too.

The scrolling single line ticker is better because you only need to look at one spot on the screen and everything goes to where your eyes are.

The new ticker is a perfect example of over thinking something. Whoever decide to use this new ticker should have his ass kicked.

Agreed. They should make it linear either vertically (which I'd prefer) or horizontally. The whole box thing is a pain in the ass to glance at quickly while watching the race.

Some people think they aren't doing their job unless they keep changing things that don't need changing. Sometime a new idea just doesn't work and hell will freeze over before they would admit their mistake.

That's why I said someone from google must have changed it. Google changes youtube every few weeks with never asking the populous a question or our input.

I like the new ticker. Better than the old one.
Key thing is showing who's leading at a glance. I like seeing who the top 3 are at a glance.

It was nice when the numbers were displayed in the color and font of the real car numbers as well, made the "quick glance" a little easier. Feels like we're looking at 2002 technology with this new one.

The cameras typically follow the leaders, i'de like to know who making moves in the middle of the pack.

I prefer the old scoring ticker as well. At least they added distance times today, which they didn't have the last two weeks.

I just don't get why people constantly have to mess up things that work perfectly fine.

It sucks because whoever is running the thing isn't consistent with whoever is running out of the top 15 in fact most of the day it only displayed the top 7.

I noticed during cautions they show 9 positions but during the race they show 2 panels, 1 locked on the top 3 (like we don't know who is up front - they show them all the time), and a second panel only shows 4 positions. I don't think they've figured out the best way to show the car positions. After one caution they showed a leader pole (position/car number) on the right side of the screen but the text was to big to show that all the time (smaller, yellow text and no background should do the trick).

According to what Mike Joy said on Twitter, they got complaints on the old ticker saying it took too long for it to loop around through the whole running order. What did they have done isn't much of an improvement on that.

The biggest problem with the old ticker is that the networks would take them off the screen when they show their full screen replays and the networks do get complaints about that.

I don't understand why we're still using full screen replays in the year 2014.

As for FOX's graphics, they're a regression IMO. So are their NFL graphics.

In today's race who ever was in control of the ticker didn't care much for who ever was running outside the top 15. Most of the race they didn't even post past the top 7.

Happens every week.

They keep refreshing 4th through 7th only which defeats the purpose of having the top 3 on a different tab.

If you're only going to show the top 7 then no need to keep a different scoring card for the top 3.

Fox people are just dumb through and through. Not just their NASCAR programming.

I didn't like the ticker but they could use both panels to cycle through field. I do try to follow some of the drivers further down in the field.

FS1 is replacing FOX Football Daily with something called America's Pregame.

Dumpster fire.
