So, during the NFC Championship Game, I've seen promos for FOX Sports Live, UFC, Ultimate Fighter and PGA golf (coming to FOX in 2015). I didn't see a single mention of NASCAR or the Daytona 500. Last week, they aired a game ... in Charlotte. They even showed images from the NASCAR Hall of Fame. Even then, I saw no mention of the Daytona 500 or NASCAR racing being on FOX. They aired promos for College Basketball and Ultimate Fighter Nations during that game.

Is it just me?

NASCAR activities are still a month or so away.

They usually start up like 2 weeks before the actual event takes place.

I'm not sure...I worry about more important things. :) Advertising doesn't help NASCAR. Us fans know what's coming, but for those who aren't fans, all they can think of when they see an ad is "another left turn."

If i remember right a i think i made a comment on another thread a couple of days ago about how little advertising i see about nascar compared to a few years ago.

I've heard quite a few local radio spots but I live in a rural area where all the fans are supposed to be. I've seen very little on the tube but I don't watch tv all that much so it could just be me.

While I am not too concerned, FOX has always promoted the Daytona 500 during the NFC championship game. I can hear Joe Buck now.

Fox has the Super Bowl this year, it'll be interesting to see if they promote the 500 then.

most on here didn't watch much of the old speed channel network unless Nascar racing was on it, but around a couple weeks after the season, Speed would be airing Nascar commercials and announcements about testing dates The Daytona 500, the 24 hours of Daytona race commercials would be aired along with driver interviews on the various racing shows, Wind tunnel etc. Motorsports in general has lost a lot of publicity and programming this year. I have noticed other networks stepping in with more automotive shows to fill the void, but the powers that be that have the Nascar contract are screwing around in my opinion. Still haven't changed my mind that Murdock and company has stepped in it and opened up a can of worms but they are playing hardball I think, trying to destroy ratings because they can. Flipping racing coverage from channel to channel while showing programming that doesn't have any viewers doesn't make sense.

FOX Sports 1 continues to be a massive disappointment. With big news breaking today about NASCAR, I went to turn on Race Hub and I'm being bombarded with NFL analysts talking about ONE football player's press conference.

they are re runs for the most part, cut up clips from last season's speed channel. I'm telling ya this bunch is doing the econo coverage route, cutting whatever expenses they can, got a bunch of stick n ballers on there they aren't paying squat and it shows. They are short changing the stick n ballers and the racing fans, while advertising how great they are.

WTF? Race Hub is a tape? Wow.
Same after the 2012 season, they did one week after Homestead and that was it tell 2013 just around Testing I think or a few weeks later, so that is nothing new.

From the moment I heard about the rumors of FOX flipping SPEED TV(rip) I knew it was going to be a joke, and sure enough, remember, its all about the numbers, both in ratings and revune and "stick-n-ball sports are money maker, more the racing can make.

Basically Faux is playing to the lowest common detonator , and once again , motor sports fans get the black flag
