FOX Sports Drops Short Track Showdown

This is the part everyone was concerned about with the relaunch. SPEED said they wouldn't be dropping live races and they are.
 
This is where fox drops the ball with Fox Sportsnet. Almost every cable provider carries some sort of incarnation of FSN. They should be able to carry these races, and maybe more regional nascar races.

I really want to believe FOX Sports 1 is going to keep these races but I have a hard time believing them after this. SPEED said, when the relaunch was announced that this race would be televised this year and on the new network next year. Not a good sign for K&N and ARCA.
 
This is why I'm really rooting for NBC to get NASCAR in 2015 and beyond. They do a great job with F1 and IndyCar and genuinely seem to care about the sport. I always enjoyed their coverage the first time around - most people didn't but I liked it.

If they could lure Bestwick back as lead commentator I would be all for it.

That bridge is burned though I'm not sure if it was NBC or TNT that made the call to demote him. Honestly, I'm shocked ESPN put Bestwick in the booth - they don't usually promote outsiders at the pace they promoted Bestwick.
 
If someone were to step up and stream this race online with proceeds going to the DH Foundation, how much would you pay to watch?
 
A pity for sure. But at least they aren't dropping Eldora.
 
Supply and demand. Unfortunately there seems to be a shortage of us who want to see pure racing. I understand the need for superstars and getting to watch our favorite superstar drivers but part of me is actually looking forward to when Gordon retires only because it will allow me to enjoy Cup racing from a different perspective. But at the same time I worry that I'll be less inclined to attend as many races because part of my motivation for attending a few events per year is my hopes of seeing my driver win.

But I digress...

I think that you make a good point Matt . I was a Bill Elliott fan and am enjoying watching the full field these days .

Needless to say, some of the guys and girls who race at Kingsport Speedway are all chewed up over this.
 
Wow, he'll learn, bad mouth a driver thats cool, bad mouth an entire culture and region of the country, especially if it's full of crazy assed country boys and girls not so cool.

It was hard to keep a straight face.

I'm being sent to Kingsport Speedway in "Hillbilly, Tennessee" on Friday night.....this should be fun. :D Those guys are all ate up over CE's comments.
