Just by happenstance last night caught a 300 lap Super Late Model event on FOX Sports South. Race was at Gresham Motorsports Park in Jeffersonville, Ga, 1/2 mile paved oval. Ken Schrader was one of the guys in the booth.

Any of you all watching these and have any of you been to this track?

Thats too bad but its not a huge surprise. I went there for 2 K&N Pro Series races and the crowds were bad. Really really nice facility, the Gresham's took over the old Peach State Speedway ( I had never been there before the Gresham's bought it ), they moved the start finish line to where the old back straightaway was and put in really nice metal grandstands, built some really nice concessions and restrooms (the restrooms there are air conditioned). Short tracks don't get any nicer than that place, but without the fan support it doesn't matter...

just read a post on another board that said the track would not run next year.

Surprised a lot of recent investments, I used to go there when it was Jeffco. I got to see Trickle win the ingural WC 300 in 1983. It was advertised to pay 100k, Trickle beat Eddy, Sennaker, Martin, Kulwicki and a bunch of big names, probably had Martin, Baluough, Fair in the field as well. The winners pay exceeded a Winston Cup payday at the time.

I haven't been there since GMS renovated the place but I have read that the current amneties and track conditions or surface is just about perfect now.

But they are to close to Lanier, and if things are the same as they were in the 90s, they probably lost the attendance war.
Probably far enough away from Atlanta to help much, and folks in SC were probably attending at GPS instead.

Lanier has been closed for a long time. Since before the Greshams renovated the track.
