Did anyone else notice during the race when they were showing the old footage of Earnhardt getting spun out, they showed a bunch of fans and they were giving the finger? Somebody at FOX surely must haved reviewed this a few times and allowed it.
 
It was during the race, I Tivo'd it, reviewed it a couple of times. I just couldn't believe fox aired it.
 
The "okay" sign means FU in some countries. What is the big deal about the middle finger? Who cares!?!?! After all, it's only a finger.
 
Have any of you ever been to Europe? You wouldn't know what to do there. They have this stuff everywhere...magazines, newspapers, television, etc. Nudity is everywhere. Sex is everywhere. I'm sure the "finger" is everywhere too. Europeans aren't so uptight about this stuff like we are here in America. We are way behind the rest of the world when it comes to these things.
 
you wouldn't want your kid to be looking at porn or stuff like that at a young age..say 5?...but that's really beside the point..what i mean is one cant live in a world that all you see is sex here sex there i mean heh

Where have you been? We already live in this world. lol

Have you watched any kiddie cartoons or anything lately? Even the cartoons have characters wearing almost nothing. There is a lot of violence in them too. There is a lot of sex and violence in kids video games too. It's crazy! I would rather have my kid watch porn than watch someone killing someone else. Don't get me wrong. I wouldn't allow this if I had children, but if it came down to porn vs. violence the porn would win. Hell, young girls dress in clothes that barely cover them. Who buys these clothes for them? The parents! They run around with cell phones too. It's crazy! Sometimes I can't believe my eyes. Therefore, if you think we aren't living in this world already you must be living in seclusion.
 
ok i'd say with live in a world of osanity yes, but not as you put it in your previousy post about europe being widely open to porn to the point of having it displayed everywhere like you said, aleast here you dont see that....or do you? i dont know maybe i am living in seclusion whatever..but i dont see it...
 
Here in the United States, it is illegal to make hand gestures involving the middle finger. We aren't Europe. There is a big body of water seperating us from Europe and that is not a bad thing.

i guess you didnt know that the middle finger is supposed to be blurred out on tv.
 
I know in Colorado, it was illegal to use hand gestures while driving. I just assumed it was illegal to use obscene gestures, I could be wrong.
 
sounds very unAmerican...so, in Colorado, if you see a friend on the road, give him a wave or a thumbs up, then you can be arrested? Sounds like Russia or Cuba.

I think that it refers to obsene hand gestures. A wave would not be considered obsene.
 
If someone makes an obscene hand gesture, the laws aren't really enforced. The laws have probably been on the books for a very long time. No one really cares about it any more.

Oh, okay, I was just wondering. But when you get into the idea of "obscene" you open up a whole new can of worms. It would actually be smarter to just outlaw ALL hand gestures than to try to legislate what is and is not obscene.

I don't think we should outlaw any hand gestures. That's ridiculous! We have too many laws now. We don't need more censorship. Besides, everyone would be in trouble. People make hand gestures all the time when they talk. Outlawing hand gestures is utterly ridiculous.
 
I didn't see it and I don't have TiVo (or even DVR) so I couldn't review it either. But, really, what does it matter? I suppose if you are very alert and attentive you would see a lot of things I don't. I pay attention to what I perceive as important in everything...........the other stuff just doesn't register in my mind. If you are looking for extraneous details you will most likely find it in almost anything you see. Now if the cameras had focused on the crowd displaying the international sign of friendship, I'm sure I would have seen and made note..........but the subject was a spinning car and that is what I saw. I really doubt children would have noticed either. It's very conceivable to me that FOX (or any other broadcaster) would not have noticed. Their focus is on what was being shown.........a spin. It sure wasn't obvious so I think it's pretty silly to make a big deal of it.

And, as for this country being behind the times with respect to Europe. That's a matter of opinion.......and you know everyone has one. However, opinions are not facts. Prove to me that this country is behind the times and you might stand a chance of changing my opinion. :D

When it comes to sexually oriented material in newspapers, magazines, television, etc...we are behind the times. Go to Europe if you want proof!
 
From what I hear Japan is far ahead of Europe. Is that a good thing? Or, maybe it's a bad thing?
At least in Europe when you have to take a wizz you don't have to search for a service station. You just pull off the road and whip it out. You don't even have to bother with looking for a tree or a bush. Different cultures - different peoples - different customs...
