FOX Technical Break-Thru's

I love their coverage. I mean its hard to put on a show that last 5 plus hours and keep the audience entertained.

I don't care for Fox much but I don't think it was any worse than normal. With so many cautions in my opinion no matter how good the broadcast team it's gonna get boring. The one thing I thought was absolutely stupid was when DW tried talking to Bobby. I mean come on he is sitting there so close to the end of the race and DW wants to ask him if he thinks he can hold off Johnson, how asinine.

DeeDee, that's the one thing that really pissed me off. I can't imagine what DW was thinking --- oh, wait a minute-- how could I mention DW and thinking in the same sentence.

You got that right, TRL!!!:XXROFL:

well at the time dw radio in bobby the field was frozen (red flag out) so i dont see a better change to ask what was on bobby's mind...

Fox coverage isn't too bad, the only thing that I don't like about Fox is that they rarely put up the pit road stop watch timers.

I think FOX's coverage stinks.........a lot of that has to do with who they have in the broadcast booth, though. I don't think Bobby wanted to talk to DW.....that became quite obvious when Bobby failed to answer him the second time. DW being the ass he is couldn't take a hint and move on. But the funny part was when they focused on the CC and they were laughing about something.......could it be they laughing at DW for being so stupid about picking up on being shunned? I don't think to this minute that DW caught on.

I'm waiting on NBC to start covering the races........not a whole lot better, but at least there's no big headed idiot in the booth to irritate me. :)

And along this train of thought.........did anyone take note of how ABC did during the Indy 500? With the one exception of talking about Danica Parker constantly, they did a pretty good job of covering the field of cars and how everyone was doing. And we didn't get all that ancient crap about "when I was racing...........etc" that we hear with FOX. I think ABC's affiliation with ESPN had a little to do that. When is FOX's and NBC's broadcasting contract up? :D

I like both fox and abc.. i don't like nbc, mainly because of Wally.. i just don't like his voice.. but yeah abc's coverage rocked, i got spoiled with it and changed to fox and didn't like it as much

And you like DW's voice????? OMG!!!!!

They don't call him Jaws for nothing. It does not bug me like it does others though.

I always thought this whole business of trying to talk to drivers stinks. But don't just put the blame on DW. Benny Parsons does it too.
Put the blame on the producer/director and NASCAR. They give the direction and set policy for this idiotic process.

Even during the pace laps it makes absolutely no sense to me to ask a driver how he thinks he's going to do. What's he going to say? Crash on lap 112? Run into the back of the XX as soon as he has an opportunity. Get real! Just another way to mention sponsors.
