FOX vs. DirecTV: Zero Hour

I hope it's resolved before the channels are yanked. I'm locked into a contract and can't go anywhere, not that I'd want to go anywhere else. The World Finals will be on TV Saturday night and would like to watch it.

DirecTV and NewsCorp have reached a deal to continue carriage of FX, FOX Sports networks, SPEED, FOX Movie Channel, Fuel TV and National Geographic Channel.

Not a surprise. Seems to me they get together now and then to scare people into saying how bad they want this stuff. Then hike the price depending how much people will take.

I don't think FOX got the feedback they wanted, hence the reason they lied about local FOX stations and FOX Nothing Channel being cut. As I've stated numerous times, there are only two or three shows, across all those networks, that put any of those networks in the top 25 at any point of time.

SPEED, which used to be a top 10 network, now is one of the lowest rated basic cable networks. Their programming strategy has backfired. Realistically, do any of you know any "car guys" that watches SPEED's programming?

YES, I watch qualifying. F1 Racing, a lot recently. And THE CAR SHOW, with Adam Carolla, even though he couldn't drive crap recently. He spun out two cars. And thank God John Salley isn't on that show anymore.

I've never seen it, but is the car show just a rip off of top gear?

Not a huge fan of Daly, but this article is to the point and accurate: http://dalyplanet.blogspot.com/2011/10/monday-live-blog-directv-vs-fox.html

Three programs on FX, a network that used to be a top rated network, are not worth it.

Rescue Me made FX a real channel to watch for the 1st 4 seasons, then Leary decided to make the show a drama and not a comedy and totally ruined the show. Rescue Me went to $hit and then the network seemed to take dump too.

FOX does that too much, takes very good shows and makes them very serious. House used to be a fun show to watch, but they made that incredibly serious. My Monday nights quickly turned over to Chuck and Harry's Law on NBC.

After watching the same crap happen last year with Time Warner and this year with Direct TV, I really didn't think it would happen. The next time someone cries wolf, I'll do my best to ignore every second of the blather.
