Rookie A.J. Foyt IV was unhurt after brushing the wall in Turn 4 this afternoon at Homestead-Miami Speedway, forcing the early ending of the final practice session of the day for the Toyota Indy 300.
Foyt "white-walled" the outside retaining wall hard in Turn 4 of the 1.5-mile oval in the No. 14 Conseco/A.J. Foyt Racing Dallara/Toyota/Firestone.
1998 IRL IndyCarTM Series champion Kenny Brack, returning to the series full time this season, was fastest in the afternoon session at 27.1228 seconds, 199.094 mph in the No. 15 Pioneer/Miller Lite Dallara/Honda/Firestone.
Tony Kanaan was second at 27.2352, 198.273 in the No. 11 Team 7-Eleven Dallara/Honda/Firestone, while Tomas Scheckter rounded out the top three at 27.2941, 197.845 in the No. 10 Target Chip Ganassi Racing Panoz G Force/Toyota/Firestone.
The next session for the IndyCar Series is practice from 10:15-11:45 a.m. (EST) Saturday.
