Rick Hendrick has confirmed that Joe Nemechek has been signed to drive the #25 Chevy for the 2003 season.

Also retained for next season will be current crew chief Peter Sospenzo and current car chief Ed Guzzo.

Most everyone figured this, but at least Joe is now confirmed to have a ride for next season.

That team has started to come together, hope it works out for them next year.

Guess some people like being the stepchild.
Some people don't have that choice,But make the best of the cards they are dealt.;) :)

i had a feeling he would take that ride.

that sucks....i was hoping he would take a ride in which the owner actually puts effort towards the car to win.

oh well........he's into R & D now.

Joe is great in Busch.

Yes he is.........but I think Joe wants to race in the Cup!:)

But, yeah, you have a point there with the stepchild thing......but sometimes the stepchild wins!! Look at Cinderella!!:D

I'd like to see the factual evidence that the #25 is an R&D car.

Glad Joe is hooked up for next year. He is good people.

I don't think it's an R&D car, but I do think it's a "billboard' out there to rake in sponsor money. It never got anything and it never will.

I think one thing it never got was a quality driver behind the wheel.

You people just make me laugh with all of that "it's an R & D car crap". That's just too funny....:lol2:

I have a friend that I race with, to make his play money he is a fabricator in the 25 shop. If the 25 car is a R&D car they don't tell the people who do the building. These guys build and perpare that car to win, not to test new ideals.

Shows just how far the Hendricks organization will go to keep the lid on things.

Think about it, if they let anyone know that it is a R & D car, then drivers, CC, crew members, and shop employees would desert en mass.

:D :D :D :D :D

when i worked at RPM and Mattei.....the guys joked on both teams that the 25 is Hendricks R&D car.

It's not an R&D car, it's just a moving billboard to get more sponsor money.

The only people that seem to refuse to believe it are Gordon fans.

I'm a Gordon fan, and I agree that the 25 doesn't seem to be getting its fair share of the goodies. While we are at it, I don't think the 5 car does either. The 25 and 5 are the poor stepchildren to the 24 and 48. I don't like the fact that they (24 - 48) seem to get preferential treatment, but I'm not the team owner.
