That full moon thing is true. It's like wearing green or eating peanuts in the pits, bad stuff happens and cars get wrecked. Like your caption over the tires, they're expensive. If Goodyear wants us to pay for there tires they should give us something race able. My experience with them they sacrifice a lot of grip and they measure way different from what they're marked and that's just not cool.

In the early eightys as a hired driver I drove a Bright Metallic Green car One season ( NDRA ) we broke **** that No one ever breaks! I kept telling the car owner it was due to the car color, kinda as a joke and to lighten the mood. Next to last race of the season it sheared the ring gear bolts in the quick change while leading a hundred lapper never ever heard of that happening before or since. On Weds night the following week I stopped by their shop to chat and they had completely stripped the car to the rollcage thrown the sheetmetal away and was sanding the green paint of the chassis and cage. Won the very next race in an all Red car

The Goodyear tires where purchased for just this test we normaly run Hoosier F45s which is the Spec tire at New Symrna. We ran the Goodyears back to back with the Hoosiers to get a comparison because the Goodyears are being ran at another track we will be visiting this summer. If your curious how that worked out.... I have 6 lightly used Goodyears for sale.
Our biggest tire controversy has been soaked/prepped tires and how the track tests for them. The Hoosier's are a good consistent race tire.

Rained out last night which means next Saturday night will be a crash fest no matter the phase of the moon. If next weeks racing is rained out it'll be crash-a-palooza the following week.

Some years ago we went 3 weeks without racing and the truck used for clean up hit the freakin' wall!

Lol, yeah those Last Race of the Season nights can be Really Bad too.

Full moon or championship nights seem to keep my wrecker crew busy at Penn Can Speedway!
