Well some bad news from Newman Haas Lanigan Racing came out of Homstead-Miami. Graham Rahal crashed the car during testing this week and they were unable to get key replacement parts for the car in time for this weekend's season opener so they will not race this weekend.:(

Its a bummer to me, I was looking forward to seeing him in it. He does plan on being ready for St. Petersburg the following week.

nice job Andretti Green! All 4 in the top 10:)

I didnt expect anything less.:D

Im still telling everyone to watch out for Ryan Briscoe. I think he is going to have a strong year, not better than Danica of course :D, but I think we will see him in the Winner's Circle this year.

I'm getting ready to go down to Homestead :)
We'll be there to see the Indy Lights race at noon.
I can't wait for the big race tonight!!!

Vision Racing's AJ Foyt IV and Ed Carpenter failed post-qualifying inspections and will have to start at the back of the field. The IRL did not disclose what the infractions were.
This moves Danica up to the outside of Row 1 !

Go Danica! :beerbang:

I never get worried about Danica qualifying, she qualifies well about everytime. I get nervous as heck during the race though. Im nervous now.;)

The ironic thing about Ed Carpenter and AJ Foyt failing the inspections is that Tony George owns the team.

We're racing in the new IndyCar Series!

They're racing like it's the last ten laps.

Well, the first race is in the books. Scott Dixon wins the Gainsco Auto Insurance Indy 300. He had a good weekend. Got the pole and the win.
It was a good race. Kanaan should of had the victory until he collided with Viso late in the race.

Marco had a strong car tonight as well. Wheldon was impressive. He came from 22nd and had the lead for awhile and finished 3rd. He is phenomenal on this track.

Darn Milka crashes out Ryan Briscoe. She needs to go! Ryan will have a strong year.

I think the former champcar drivers did good tonight as well. It was the first race on an oval for a lot of these guys.

Danica ran a good race. I was proud of her. I wanted her in Victory Lane but she did well. She finished 6th. Good job Danica! She will get em at St. Pete.

Below is the final results of the race..

How cool would that have been if Wheldon could have pulled out the win. That guy is a monster.

Why does Rahal Letterman Racing only have one driver this year? What happened to them?

A good race to watch.

It was nice to see the Champ car guys do well. Not only did they have to learn--in a hurry--how to run wide-open on banking, but also having a spotter talking to them.

I had a lot of fun at the race, but in the end it was an IRL race of years past-4 cars ending up on the lead lap  BUT... We're lucky enough to have passes to the pits/paddock areas and a lot of the former Champ crews in the garage were scrambling to get cars ready and asking specifics on IRL rules for racing and tech inspection. I think the races will only get better and better as the season goes on. I'm really looking forward to this season of Indy racing! :)
