Garage Partitions

Whats up with the garage partitions at Indy in the 48 teams garage stall. No other teams have them and NASCAR's policy is normally an 'open garage' type policy so if teams see anything pushing the envelope they can report it. What are they hiding?? What's everyone else opinion?

don't know about all that. Nice, looks like they are using Kobalt boxes that they sell at Lowes. That stainless steel box set is nice and priced right. I bet that is part of it, selling Kobalt stuff.

According to ESPN, they're using the garages built at the Speedway to F1 specifications, which is why they are so massive. From what I gather (maybe SuperTex can correct me), F1/NASCAR use the fancy new garages while IndyCar uses the historic Gasoline Alley.

NASCAR has used the Gasoline alley for several years, Ive been 11 times counting this year and thats the first time Ive heard of them using the F1 garages.

Is Nationwide using Gasoline Alley? Could be just a logistical/space thing since Grand-Am and Nationwide now race at the same weekend.

I think the big F1 garages you're referring to are the pit-side garages under the stands on the inside of the front stretch, behind the pit boxes on Pit Lane. Those are mostly open empty pass-through areas during Indy and NASCAR races, a few of them have little merch stores.

The garages in Gasoline Alley where we see the teams working on the cars are the same ones the IndyCar teams use in May. The old green and white barns were torn down in the late 80's.

notice the 2 team next to them. isn't that funny
Yesterday they were joking about putting Miller Lite stickers on their side of the panels. It'd be funnier if they went and got some Home Depot stickers from JGR. I don't think Hendrick would be laughing like Bowyer's team did when those guys put Lite stickers on their stuff.

Well if they are still up then that means Nascar has no issues with it. Look to other teams to start doing it. I am sure when 43 teams start fighting over partition space then Nascar will start regulating it.

I also though hiding sheet wasn't allowed. I suspect Chad is just playing games with the #2 team.

Looks nice, they all will have it next year, bet it is selling some Kobalt tools and tool boxes too. You guys do have tools and tool boxes don't ya? I have some of my Grampa's stuff, close to a hundred years old, an old model T wrench. Henry made his fasteners on the model T an odd size so you would have to take it back to the dealer for service..Didn't know that probably did ya. I bought a set of Kobalt vice grips just the other day and drooled over the Cobalt stainless boxes at Lowes. Lucky Chad gets a whole garage full of them full of tools I bet.

I hope the governing body takes a nit comb to JJ's car. ;)

I get the feeling Nascar will put a stop to it soon. Don't they claim they want an open garage area?
he got it approved by Nascar before he did it. fixed it up like the F1 garages when they raced there. got his sponsors stuff all over the place.

Who is "he"?

Johnson, this time serious, explains: "You might notice over the last few years we wanted to spruce up that area (of the garage)," Johnson said. "Knowing that all the F1 stalls are the exact same and the way F1 does such a beautiful job of building out a garage area, Chad was just inspired to do that a year or two ago."
The partitions are clearly visible and Johnson’s team had them up both Friday and Saturday, so obviously if NASCAR had a problem with them, the partitions would have been gone by Saturday morning.
"Lowe’s and (tool-maker) Kobalt provided all the stuff that they have in-store that we can put right in our pit box," Johnson said. "Chad even went through all the steps to get it approved with NASCAR. It’s really just to show off the great things that are sold in store."

For the love of God, Snap-On, please primarily sponsor a car. Trickest garage stall in NASCAR right there..

just lowes/kobalt marketing. logo screens. tiny tool boxes. 3 stools under table. etc

but chad prolly usin it mentally too. wtf are they doin??
bet it's workin w/ kez too. ha! payback !

Never thought I'd see fans get excited about more commercialism in racing.. as if we don't have enough of it

Dude, a Snap-On truck inside a NASCAR garage stall is badass AF. Think about it!

This will give the "Jimmie/Chad are cheaters" idiots more material upon which they can base their nonsensical rants.
