As some of you may know NCState had a tragic shooting a couple of years back. None of the parties involved had tickets for the game but had showed up for the tailgating. This has lead to a huge po-po presence at our games. Now a cop gets hurt. Actually his thumb was cut off. But, I'll ask you what the consequences should be. 1st the details:
We have 4 mounted po-po at every game. Well now it comes out that during the game them and a few other police set up a horse track where they race the horses. Possibly wagering on the outcome. They're supposed to be patrolling the parking lots looking for problems but I digress. Anyway this mounted cop from Garner, a bedroom community of Raleigh, was racing his horse against another when the horsed got too close to a guy wire and he lost his thumb.
1. Does he get worker's comp for being injured on the job?
2. Does he and potentially the others involved get a reprimand?
3. Does he get suspended for dereliction of duty?
4. Does he get fired for possibly endangering civilians in the tailgating area?
5. Or, is it all swept under the rug where the news media barely covers the story?
The answer, so far, is #5. It will be interesting if this story develops legs.
What do you think should happen?
