Gas prices are holding steady and no outages yet in Knoxville.

I figured just as soon as I got rid of my car that got 30 mpg for a truck that gets 19-20 mpg that something would happen with gas.

None in my part of the state, but I did pass $2.65 on my way home from Myrtle Beach. There are laws on the books against price gouging and our next governor, Roy Cooper, says he will prosecute anyone who is gouging.

I stopped at the gas station yesterday to get something to drink and there was a wanker there with several gas cans in the bed of his truck and he was filling them up like a common everyday hobgoblin. Arsehole of the day award winner.

One of my wife's friends told her that she saw a station in Greensboro NC at $7.75 per gallon. She went in to ask them about it, and they told her it was "to discourage people from buying too much gas while supplies were disrupted". She pointed out that they might get tagged as price gougers, and about two hours later when she drove by there again she noticed that they had dropped it back to $2.16 per gallon (which was the average rate at that time).
