With my 410" engine in my pick-up I was getting pulverized at the pump so, for my birthday I bought me a new little gas sipper for the daily commute...
Microsoft Sync equipped :)

The 410 is a stroked 390. I've got a fresh 472" engine on the floor in my garage for one of my projects and have started a 521" stroker for another...all of which were planned before gas went up. The 521 will have to run on race gas anyway (can't wait to see what that stuff costs now )

Incidently, it was hard to find that Focus in a 2 door, with stick. They had a bunch of automatics but only two white, 2-door stick cars within 500 miles of here...

you sound like one of my friends. He's got a 2K sq ft shop just outside of town with 4 73-87 chevy pickups with not-so-stock bullets under the hood. One's a full out race truck- 400 small block, headers, cutouts, 5" tack, 6 point cage, the works. And a 20 pound bottle :D

Now a days you can take the money your throwing away at the pumps in your big trucks and take it to the lot and make the payments AND pay for gas in these lil cars. Wise move Bobby!! I have a Honda Accord and a Ford truck with a 460.. My truck hasnt been driven for years except to the dump..lmao

I wouldnt doubt it. Same with our dually- minimal use. Granted the 460 was NEVER built with the least intentions toward fuel mileage, like the boss motors and the chrysler hemi. Back then, the dyno was all that mattered.

Gas is a $1.34 a Liter here

I was planning to race my little 1981 Toyota Corolla for the first time at the local track next weekend, but with gas prices being so high, I doubt I even will this whole season :(

Is that canadian or USD? not that it matters...but a litler has a 3.78 multiplier..3.78*1.34 = 5 dollars per gallon!!!!!!

Hop the border to race is all i can say..lol

Was discussing this with my coworker today, he has a mustang II with the V6. Said he gets about 12-14 MPG...my 01 dakota with V6 gets 17 or so. My dually gets 6-9, he said he used to have a pickup in that ballpark before the 'stang.

Wish i could get ahold of my ol friend and see how his race truck is doing. When i said he had a 400 small block, well i did look back in my chat logs, it's actually a 454 mated to a TH350 (which he's replaced 3 times, now with hardened internals). But he does plan a monster motor he was intending to build.

02 Sunfire. 2.2 auto. last time i checked it was 27mpg
02 Lincon Towncar. it has a small v8. gets around 22
87 GMC 4 door, 454 ci, with a sleeper, and dovetail car hauller bed. 6-9 mph.

Have an 96 Chevy, 2 door, duramax, auto. but not sure what it gets.

We traded in one of our gas guzzlers in March and picked up a Chevy Cobalt LT. We compromised on the stick and 2-door since we had a full-sized car and we still have to transport "kids" sometimes, esp. band equipment. Actually in addition to getting the 4-door automatic, we bought an '07 with less than 20k on it that was loaded with all the fancy stuff we never would have been able to afford in a new one. That's getting about 33-34 highway/mixed, too.
