Fans will get to see an inside look at the production of NASCAR's most advanced race car

Ever wonder how Dale Earnhardt Jr.'s, Matt Kenseth's or Carl Edwards' cars are made?

Well, now you'll get a chance to see, as hit Science Channel TV show "How It's Made" will go behind the scenes to give viewers an inside look at how NASCAR's Gen-6 race car bodies are made.

The show, which airs Thursday at 9 p.m. ET, visits Earnhardt's shop at Hendrick Motorsports in Concord, North Carolina to reveal just how the organization -- which has a whopping 11 Sprint Cup Series championships -- builds the Chevrolet SS cars their drivers use.

The Gen-6 car came into action last year for the start of the 2013 season, sporting an entirely different look from 2012. The Gen-6 car put the "stock" back into stock car racing as each manufacturer featured unique body styles that resembled the cars being sold on its showroom floors. Gen-6, now in its second season, was an instant hit with fans and drivers and has continued to provide close competition on a weekly basis.

Tune in Thursday to get your chance at seeing how it all comes together.

Oh my gods, I am sooooooooooooooooooo going to watch this! :D :D

DVR is set to all first run episodes of How It's Made. It's one of my favorite shows. Thanks for the heads up though.

They are also going to show how phantom cautions are made.

Well you see the flagman just has to "accidentally" lean on the button and the caution comes out. They weren't upset that he leaned on the button in Bristol, they were upset that he was so blatant about it.

Awesome, I'll definitely check that out. Now if only I could work there and be the one to build them lol.

I taped an episode the other day of it showing how the HANS device was made. That was pretty cool. It's neat seeing the test it goes through at the factory.

Here's an old episode from about 6 years ago:

A bit of trivia. This one is the Canadian version because the chick Lynn Adams is the narrator. The US versions have a guy, Brooks Moore, narrating. The voice-over is the only difference in the shows.

I used to have a math teacher named Ms. Adams in high school. She was smokin hot.

I used to like the show Cops. When I first got a DVR, I set it to record all instances of Cops. Like a week later, the DVR was full with hundreds of episodes of Cops. CourtTV (back then) showed them nonstop at night.

Unfortunately, a lot of them were repeats. :(

These days, it's all about Alaska State Troopers. :salute: Though the new episodes are few and far between.

So I didn't miss anything? My DVR was on the fritz and I was on the toilet being sick. :(

You did not miss much. They showed hoe the carbon fiber nose is formed and a little bit about frame/cage construction. Less than 10 minutes.

.....Well that's a ****** rip-off. What's the point in advertising you're going to show how they make the Gen6 car if you're not going to show the entire process!?
