BERLIN, Germany (Reuters) -- German women fed up with their partners' grumbling on weekend shopping trips can now dump them at a special kindergarten for men offering beer and entertainment.

"The women are issued a receipt for their partners when they hand them in and can pick them up again when they return it to us later," Alexander Stein, manager of the 'Nox Bar' in Hamburg told Reuters Tuesday.

The men are given a name tag on arrival and for 10 euros ($11.80) they get two beers, a hot meal, televised football and games.

Stein said the idea for the "Maennergarten" came from a female customer who thought it would pacify her husband while she shopped.

"She found it all too stressful and thought this might be the solution," he said. "Both were very happy with the way it turned out.

"Last week the men had a remote control car to play with. Next week there's going to be a mini racetrack," Stein said.

Oh how pathetic...Would any of you guys go along with being treated like a five year old and dropped off at daycare? Wait on second thought don't answer.

HELL YEAH, beer, football, remote control cars, I'm in. :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: When can we start?

Now, if they had heavy equipment my hubby could play with, he'd be there in a heartbeat.

He hates shopping with me. And, to tell the truth, I hate having him along.

Boy, ain't that the truth TRL. I hate taking my hubby shopping with me, and that includes grocery shopping. When I do take him with me, I spend double what I would have had I gone alone.

I must be blessed Miss Pbunch really doesn't like to shop. In fact I do the grocery shopping, and cooking. B)

now I understand. ;)

Doesn't sound like my cup of tea. But I can certainly see where it would work for quite a few people. No drunk driving either. ;)
